they did an entire investigation into the washington redskins and didnt release hardly any details except this one. im sure they found out a lot and have kept it under wraps. gruden probably has pissed a few people off over the years, they probably leaked some of the emails and allowed this to build slightly. likely went to mark davis and said what other emails/dirt they have. davis probably had no choice. gruden probably knows there is more out there and the deal is likely that those never come to light if he just walks away.

So after this investigation, there's 650,000 emails that were part of the discovery. Per the NFL and investigative team, the correspondence between Bruce Allen & Jon Gruden was the part of the initial discovery. The tip of the iceberg if you will. And from that they out Jon Gruden as the fall guy. Of the remaining 650,000 emails, the NFL said they won't release the rest.
