so with that wind you dont even think Samardzija is worth a little value at home against a weak Houston team thats only got like 14 wins on the road for the 1st 5 because I was looking at maybe at least a play on that was looking for some info from you on this game is what I was waiting to see......thanks

I don't like the price. Lyles has been pitching great lately and even though Jeff will likely pitch well, this game becomes more of a coinflip if Lyles has his shutdown stuff as well which is why I was leaning more towards a total play. On the contrary, if the wind plays a factor and the game becomes a slugfest that also makes the game somewhat more of a coinflip which should gravitate the line back towards even. I wouldn't want to lay any steep juice on this one but with that being said I refuse to fade Samardzija against this weak lineup as well.

Virtually the same situation as the line is similar and with both bullpens being equally weak, cutting out the last four innings doesn't change much. I'm going to pass on this game which I may end up regretting but I can't get an accurate read on what factor the wind will play and they haven't covered it on the pregame show that I'm currently watching.

Line is down to 9 Over -15. Wind must have shifted somewhat. That is fairly middle of the road to slightly high at Wrigley. Something strange about the game; can not put my finger on it.

Just got back from playing a few sets of tennis and had to do a double take looking at the score... You were absolutely correct - there was definitely something eerie about this game and I'm glad I laid off. When I stepped outside and realized how hot and humid it was (feels like 90 degrees) I was instantly glad I laid off before leaving because the ball would be and is jumping off the bats.

Chicago Cubs Team Total Under 4 -130 risking $325 to win $250

Asking the Cubs, who hit poorly on the road, to net 5 off of the hot Gallardo and solid Milwaukee pen is asking too much in my opinion.

Cubs get shutout for the last five innings but it didn't matter as they already got their 5 off Gallardo who couldn't hit his spots after 3 great starts. Oh well, on to the next.

so Jcubs55 not knowing the wind factor today but Im thinking about putting a nice size play on the cubs 1st five because I really think that Samardzija is at best a 5 inning pitcher and might even make a great closer out of the bullpen for a better team looking for a closer or maybe even a strong middle reliever...but thats just my opinion because I do like him but I know your a fan and from the area so Im asking what do you think about the first 5 play???

I like a first 5 play here too. Only reason I played the whole game is because Jeff can go pretty deep in a lot of starts. And there's no way he'll be a closer or pitch for a better team because we are keeping him for the long haul!! He'll be our #1 or #2 in the dynasty years (starting in 2-3 years). This kid will only get better and Theo will NOT let him leave Chicago... he'll be the next one to get a long-term deal. The wind will be blowing left to right at less than 10 MPH so it's essentially a non-factor. I usually only check on that for games at Wrigley since the wind comes into play there more than any other park. It's actually the only stadium that does not have overnight totals posted until the weather conditions are confirmed... fact.

ok thanks for the info....and I wasnt trying to make you mad or anything I like im as a pitcher and I was only saying he reminds me of Smoltz from the Braves and he was a good starting pitcher with a strong arm or even [h=3]Dennis Eckersley good starter turned great reliever is all I was saying he can stay with the cubs and do it I just think his talents could be better utilized for him and the cubs thats all Im not trying to steal him....LOL[/h]

Haha no worries weasel I wasn't mad at all and knew you had no malicious intent... it's very hard to offend me, especially on the internet. We did explore using him as a reliever but he worked his ass off in spring training dedicating himself to being a solid starter... I'm so excited for the future with him

I lost my bigger play on the 1st 5 with him because they waited until the 6th inning to take the lead but I got some of it back on the over....thank goodness they got into extra innings...anyways I really think that he could be a great closer for for the cubs or another team and Chi got a nice trump card there to land a couple good 2 or 3 named players for him now if they would choose to before his record and innings pitched ruins him and his value drops is all Im saying I like him and I usually play him for the 1st 5 when hes throwing but I do think honestly think that they have a gem as a closer for a long time if they would just try him there just my opinion and thats why Im reading forums and not playing I guess...have a good day bud and I hope you were on your home town team...GL
