Fish, as usual I read you loud and clear.

Over the years, I created my own luck by only playing while at an advantage

Skill is 90%??? are you serious man?? yday, I bet on NY Knicks 1half -4.5..... NY is leading by 6 points and with 1.2 seconds left Minnesota put lay up in.... so you are saying you expect this to happen?? well, this could be 10% of luck went wrong way to me right.... what about last weekend on NFL, my friend bet on 1st quarter under 7.5 (forgot who played this game) and with 0 second left on clock one team put a TD and lose the bet....I could go on and on with these ridiculous lost my friend and I had this past 2 weeks..... so I don't know how skill is 90%...it's more like 10-20% of skill and 80-90% of luck

very well said

Same debate about landing a hot chick.

Skill or luck?

Did you catch her on rebound, needing some dick, when something happened bad in her life or is it because you got game and dazzled her.

No difference

I disagree. A bad player may benefit from getting lucky when he is in for the flop with crap. A skilled player would not even be in the hand.
im not a poker expert ill take your word for it on poker....ive seen and been in sportsbetting for a long time..........like i said same guys win every year luck cancels out.........i mean sure one guy may hit ten teamers and make a life changing score.........im talking about the guys that bet for a living and beat the books laying -110 before offshore and all this bonus whoring by books and players.........these guys that were beating us before are the same guys beating us now.......that is skill not luck

TTP...in Fish's case, having met the chap a few times, he landed the hottie billsfan by Pure uncanny 108% LUCK

but that is an anomaly in itself and should not be used for this topic

Solid post. I am completely convinced that the last girl I was with was way too hot for me to have it be skill.

I would call that resourcefulness over skill. The average Joe will not get the same lines and will not move them himself so he can bet the other side.

You didnt create your own luck, you created your own skill.
Why do you think 98% of gamblers lose year in.Do you think they all had bad luck.I cant believe this is even an arguement. It shows me how sharp a group we have here.
Steak Tartar has been around, hes old school, hes got good common sense.
Anyone who disagrees with him or me,is part of the 98%.The 98%,that lose year in year out.
I cant believe you think 90% is luck.UNBELIEVABLE.

Gambling wise..............

It amazes me how so many individuals(99%+) refuse to educate themselves about a particular gambling activity from somebody that has been there and been successful at it and never take the time to learn.

Sorry to change the subject, but I could go on and on on this subject and its one of my biggest pet peeves with gamblers...................many are just flat out stubborn.

Example, tried explain to a football bettor last year why you should buy half points in certain situations and he remarks to me in a semi-smartass way, "what the *uck, this isnt shopping for blue light specials at K-mart".

I wouldn't even being doing this (sports betting) if I knew it was all based on luck. That is why I never play those casino games.

Next time he loses by half a point, tell him that "I guess you should have hit the blue light special."

I hear ya ..

You cannot control those 4th quarter turnovers

..with under a minute to play in that Chiefs-Packers game,(KC with ball possession) the only way I could lose was if GB scored once more; (had KC teased to +4.5 and 'Skins +3.5)

Sure enough, the Packers pick it off at mid-field & run it in for a TD. :think2:

Once again you are talking about 1 game, no one debates that. The skill is timing the market and betting that NY Knicks bet at -4.
well..like I said these were just some of the game that I gave as example... I can go on and on.... and books that I play at does not allow me to buy points on half games....
