was this to save money chop or did she get suspicious by catching you wrapping/eating cookies/etc (just curious)

I doubt it was the money issue.. but I want to know why you chose that. I have no children but I play the christmas thing up very big for my nieces and never would spoil it for them

Telling a four year old there's no Christmas....Sometimes chop's true colors come out. Im assuming he will make a swift exit from this thread now so he doesn't spoil his rx reputation

Not a money deal. She gets more presents then most. She is not any less happy.

You took it upon yourself to tell your 4-year-old that Santa is not real? I can understand her figuring it out on her own but if you told her that just because, you're a real asshole.

All I know is that you cannot shelter your child from the truth...too much info out there in the real world...children are like a sponge and can absorb a ton of ideas on their own...if your child learns the correct values from their parents, I am not going to worry what others may say...doesn't mean they won't make mistakes growing up but they will learn from them with guidance from parents...and I also believe that white lies about Santa, the tooth fairy, and Easter Bunny is ok, part of growing up...

I just see no benefit whatsoever to telling a child who hasn't even entered kindergarten yet that Santa isn't real. I mean what do you accomplish by doing that? Talk about crushing a kid's imagination. Man.
