How can a guy on a message board seem like a stand up guy?

You have to look a mfr in the eye to really see what they are about.

There are a few stand up guys on message boards. I consider myself one.

Even looking at a mfr in the eye is not a reliable way to judge someone. People with shady personalities are good at hiding that fact.

Maybe you are a stand up guy...maybe u arent

I dont know anyone that will say they arent a stand up guy

fact is...the only thing tying one poster here to another is this board...

im not naive...i know that looking a guy in the eye doesnt always tell the tale but it does say alot.

This is not meant as an "I told you so" - The Rx.com has been posting this for months

Rx.com policy when dealing with other posters privately...

Please proceed with extreme caution and operate at your own risk when dealing with other Rx posters privately, especially in financial matters. The Rx.com does not endorse any posters or affilaites that solicit other posters or potential clients on the site and cannot vouch for any posters to merchants or affilaites looking for new clients in any of our forums.

Financial transactions between posters are extrememly risky and The Rx. advises the use of the most serious caution before making any kind of financial transaction with another poster.

Unless you personally know an affiliate or poster or one is vouched for you by someone you highly trust you sould be very hesitent to conduct unsecured financial business with any afiliate or poster you meet on this any other forum.

Posters and affiliates please use either Bookie Chit Chat or The Site Promotion Forum for all new player solicitations.

I cannot over emphasize how dangerous it is to bet with complete stangers and expect to be paid if you win. I am not saying all affliates and posters are dishonest but caution needs to be practiced whenever posters deal with a private party. The Rx.com cannot help mediate disputes between private parties unless both are willing to cooperate.

Thanks, wilheim.

Shocking. He seemed like one of the few stand up guys on this message board. No one can be trusted in this world with your money. NO ONE.

IS

Any time I lend someone some money I go in with the frame of mind of not expecting to get it back. Therefore, I rarely lend anyone money. I have very few close friends and even some of my ex-close friends have stabbed me in the back.

Coach, sorry to hear someone here stiffed you. Thanks for being big enough to let us know.

Never understood why people trust degenerates on this board or any other. I mean these people probably steal from their own mothers to get a bet in.

Sure some can, you will just never know who these people actually are. Honour still means a lot to some people in this world.

Gee Coach, I feel really sorry about that.

Glad you posted though since it explains why he's been hiding. Just goes to show you can't trust anyone.

As a poker player I've been asked by people I know quite well in my local room and I always say "I don't borrow money and I don't lend it either".

I thought long and hard about this post. It is not very pleasant to admit you trusted someone to be honorable to repay a wager that you made for them and then they don't pay.
This happened when I played Oklahoma-7 -121 to win the Fiesta Bowl. In talking to Insiders after making the play he asked if he could have $2500 laying 3,025 on part of my Oklahoma play. I was hesitant but we had talked daily since the summer and I thought he would be good for it.
After the game I finally reached him a week later and he gave me a story about him and some others got caught in a bad situation and he said his cell phone was going dead. The connection was lost.
Many calls were made in the following months with messages left but no return calls. 2 nights ago Insiders finally called to tell me he was NOT going to pay his loss because I shut him out of playing the second half of the game to try to get out of the trap. I told him that story did not pass the smell test and if he was screw me to just tell me. He said that I did not give him a chance to get even and therefor he was not going to pay me.
I was stupid in making the play for him in the first place and it will cost me so think twice about doing it yourself. Like I said earlier, it is hard to admit you were a chump, especially when you know better. LT

Always leery of taking action, then the people want to play the 2nd half with you too. Almost a sure sign they don't have the money and are just trying to get even. Too bad Coach, you are one of the standup guys on here.

Almost started a thread about the whereabouts of Insiders.

That sucks.

Coming up with a bullshit excuse only makes it worse. I'd respect him more if he simply admitted he didn't have the money and wasn't going to pay, or would pay less. His excuse only makes it all the more lame.

If he truly cannot pay, that is one thing. But if he can pay but choose not to, then you are in the right for whatever you choose to do should you be able to personally have him tracked down.

Have you offered him a payment plan?

The Really Sad Part Is

that Coach is such a kind and trusting guy. The old saying "no good deed goes unpunished" is so true. There is no more of a stand up, class person than Coach. He`s one guy I`d be proud to call a friend. As for Insider can only hope he gets his in some really gruesome way. People on the CFB forum were just wondering about him.

Sadly this does not shock me anymore. Hope people realize mixing money and forum friendships is not a good idea. I'm sorry for your loss coach.

People can blame it on degenerate gamblers but there are plenty of gamblers who actually pay their debts. The truth of the matter is this kind of thing happens in all walks of life, within families, between friends, between co-workers, employers and employees and natrually between strangers we encounter on any kind of forum, it is the nature of lending money and the evil it somtime carrys with it.

I tended bar for years in the same place and natrually became friends with many many regulars over the years and I found out the hard way the easiest way to lose: 1st. a customer for your employer and the revenue he generated, 2nd a friend (to some degree) to yourself, and 3rd. a good customer who usually tipped you OK which added to your weekly income, was to lend that customer money, you lost all of the above plus the loan money itself while your ex-customer did his drinking at your competition's place.

Coach Lt. You have my sympathy, I have been down that same road to many times to count anymore.

LOL. WC you're on a gambling forum of degenerates that bet on sports every single day. I'd guess 60% of people on here are dishonest, scammers, losers in life, etc.

See you in the rubber room brother:pope:
Yeah, I try to filter through the clowns (especially the ones that claim they make tons of money gambling, and always post after the win), hearing insiders was one of them surprised me. Not that I'd loan him $3,000, or anyone else here for that matter.
