If the Cubs had absolutly everyone healthly and I mean everyone. Wood, Prior, Garciaparra etc. And if Dempster can keep doing what hes doing. The Cubs have the makings for the best team in baseball. It does not get any better than.

Prior
Wood
Zambrono
Maddox
Rush

They also have a nice offense if Parra were healthy. I think Cory Patterson is really close to breaking out as being one of the top 20 players in the game. Derrick Lee top MVP canidate.
I know it sounds funny right now, but dont count the Cubs out come October if everyone can get healthy and on the same page.
Quite a few if's in your post but I hope you are correct because I can't even explain why but I am always pulling for the Cubs

As a lifelong fan of my beloved and losing CUBS and my American League team being the RED SOX, it hurts to say that the best team by far is ST LOUIS.

St Louis is having the better season. That does not mean they have the best team. Baseball is all about pitching. No team can compare to Prior, Wood, Zambrono, Maddox and Rush when healthy. Throw in a nice offense with the emergence of Ryan Dempster and you have the makings of a team that will soon get on a big roll. You cannot find a scout in the big leagues that will dispute the Cubs starting rotation when healthy as being the best by far in the whole league.
