Freedom Convoy: GoFundMe seizes funds of Canada 'occupation'
The crowdfunding website cites reports of "unlawful activity", a claim rejected by protest organisers.

GoFundMe says it will withhold millions of dollars raised for Canadian truckers protesting against vaccine mandates, citing police reports of violence.
The Freedom Convoy has been rallying since last weekend, and more protests are expected in Toronto and Ottawa.
In a statement, the crowdfunding website said it would withhold the donations already made, and refund the money to donors that request it.
The $1m that has already been released will only go to participants who went to Ottawa to peacefully protest, said GoFundMe.
"No further funds will be directly distributed to the Freedom Convoy organizers - we will work with organisers to send all remaining funds to credible and established charities verified by GoFundMe," its statement added.

The ECA reform is set to bar a sitting vice president from single-handedly overturning electoral results that had already been certified on a state level, raise the number of lawmakers needed to protest state results and offer protection for election workers.
Why the need for reform if Pence didn’t have the power ?
Just as yesterday marked the official beginning of the Winter Olympics with that wonderful and captivating opening ceremonies,
imo it also marked the official beginning of the ultimate demise of Donald Trump based on what Mike Pence said about the illegality
to overturn the results of the 2020 Election based on the OFFICIAL AND DOCUMENTED results of the 2020 Election.
Although he didn't say it directly, as I see it, he said in so many words "Fuck you Trump, while you can intimidate and hold hostage
your buddies in Congress into at least publicly agreeing with everything you say and do, you can't do it with me, and I told it as
it really is re: your bullshit and lies about my overturning the results of the 2020 Election!!!"
As I said late last night, this is going to send a clear message to those in Congress and other political people, some of whom
who "support" him only in fear that if they do not, that their own political future is at risk, that perhaps Donny shouldn't
be feared in that he is not invincible and is vulnerable like any other mortal!!
Imo this will lead to some of these folks speaking out or at the very least not worrying about their own political careers
if they do not accept everything he says or does as gospel!!
In short my overall opinion is that what Pence said yesterday is a very important step in what will be the ultimate collapse
of Trumpism as we know it.
Couple that with what I believe will come out of the January 6th Investigation as well as the other related and nonrelated legal
issues facing Trump, the question for me is not if but when his presence will be reduced to relative nothing.
As far as being his being the Republican candidate for 2024, all I can say is keep dreaming-it ain't happening!!!
