Just in from last night.
This most current episode was far and away the most ignorant of them all and therefore the most embarrassing to the network.
Absolutely nothing (but one… mentioned below) about this episode made any sense in the real world of sports wagering.
The one part that was reasonable pissed "Steve" off very much. The big player on this episode refused to bet over 5% of the amount Steve was insisting. Great judgment by the player. Stevie Boy was insisting the player bet 20K and the guy just stonewalled him and refused to play more than 1K. Fantastic. As anyone with intelligence more than that of and earthworm would know...... nobody would fall for this 50% commission scam. Not for any length of time even if someone was that stupid in the beginning.
The reasons for the plays continued to be juvenile at best and all plays continued to be favorites (often large favorites) and "overs" on totals.
As pathetic as this show is, I still fear it can be very hurtful to some moronic players and their families. Look at some of the Einsteins on this forum who swear by it. There is no rational by which any of this program is anything but an ignorant cartoon.
By the way….. Steve Stevens admitting his background as a felon must have been inserted after the station was outed and busted over the net for their choice of characters when they failed their first launch back in the summer. I feel pretty sure that the parts about the new baby and his father’s illness are probably far less than truthful. Just a feeling I can’t help but have. Everything about the guy’s real life is a scam.
If this would have been advertised as a comedy it would still be a problem, just because this subject is nothing to joke about. Structuring the commercials (marketing) of the show in an attempt at realism is just totally sick.
Now that I think about it…. These guys at CNBC may be marketing wizards. Since 99+% of all players have never made the effort or had the balls to make a real serious play….. these big money type falsifications could produce lots of curiosity (audience)?????
