19 yrs in aa and thats one of the first things they told me...i wasnt a victim but a volunteer.....most people really dont want to change..This is sad and I feel for you but your first step is to quit blaming the alcohol.
The alcohol did not do shit.
It was you.
You gotta know where to point the blame before you can correct it.
Good luck.
aa is about tough love..you didnt have anything to do with his problems whatever they are. it's all about choices...when you've had enough you will ask for help. until then nothin can help you but you.....This thread was not the proper place to voice my opinion on this subject and for that I apologize.
I pulling for you to turn it around.
Good luck BB.
Ummm what? Millions of people drink responsibly. Heroine is one of the most dangerous/addictive drugs on the planet. They aren't even in the same area code.
Why not sir?
gyno,i became addicted to alcohol but i learned in aa that alcohol wasnt my problem...i have a thinking problem......alcohol and drugs are a symptom not a cause.. .long long story. Are you saying alcohol isn't an addictive and dangerous drug? Alcohol unlike any other drug affects every organ in your body, it doesn't just kill brain cells but it affects your liver, pancreas, brain, heart, etc. Many cancers are because of alcohol consumption. How about the withdrawls from alcohol? They are just as bad as heroin. Ever heard of the shakes? Ever heard of wet brain?
It's a very, VERY dangerous drug. Ask the 12 million people in AA, the victims of drunk driving, spousal abuse and all the lost souls out there caused by alcohol..
Oh did I mention that alcohol is legal and available for purchase on basically every street corner?
Did I mention its socially acceptable?
While heroin is frowned upon, very illegal and hard to obtain for the average person..
"The British Medical Journal on 27th of July 2012 published an extensive study scaling the harm caused to ones self and to others due to substance use. The study looked at the 19 most commonly used drugs both legal and illicit. Heroin was ranked at number 1 while Alcohol sat in 4th place and cannabis came bottom being deemed least harmful in all 3 tables."

Is the legal and easily attainable factor included? Alcohol is very easy to obtain, heroin you need connections..
Could you buy a gram of heroin right now? i guarantee you could buy a case load of heavy alcohol right now.
Bet you could get your hands on some Bacardi 151.
