WTF is he doing??? I think, he is LAZY and just wants to spend his Millions that he has already made....OR he is certifiable crazy for leaving during what would have been his BEST year and in his prime

Respect his decision, as I do Jim Brown. Robert Smith and Barry Sanders decisions also to name just a few others.

Free to smoke pot without being tested is more like it...

I can't get that image of him surrounded by reporters wearing that Saints helmet , all fogged up, as he takes questions in the locker room...that was all we really needed to see, to know his oars were not reaching the water....

Fish, I respect his decison to, however the manner in which he did this to the Dolphins right before the start of camp, He could have done this during the off season?? But as soon camp got close as he needs to start "working out" to earn his Zillions of dollars he quits ??? and is saying things like "Im finally free " that had me leaning to him being a closet nutjob...

just my opinion

There is more to this than meets the public eye....I also guarantee he comes back, maybe even as soon as this season...He will be back!

Williams ever plays in the NFL again?

Yes -350

No +290

He's not comfortable in his own skin...

Why do something if you don't have to?. How many would quit their jobs if they could?

kyhawk makes a great point, Williams is healthy (well physically healthy) and he won't end up having to crawl out of bed like "Earl Campbell"..see above reference, lol

I am no R Williams fan.But as a running back in the NFL you-me have no idea the true beating these players get.We have no idea how painfull it is getting tackled by these powerfull players. If me or you got tackled just one time in an NFL game our bodies would never be the same.
If he has 5-10 million put away,I wouldnt blame him for retiring.
My big question is will he have any money left in 5-10 years?

The colts will likely have to choose between James or Harrison next season. James loves South Fla. I would say he already knows where he will be. Indy cannot commit to both these guys after giving Manning the state.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

there is nothing "closet" about him being a nut job.

with that said, he's quitting his job and i think that is ok. most view this as a strange decision because of the money he makes and the fact that he plays a game for a living. imho, he's making a decision that people make everyday, he does not like his "job" and never has so he's going to quit. i've seen a number of guys with "eff you" money walk out after getting tired of the grind.
