20 points and 7 boards a game is hype and garbage? Hes played for 2 years and everyone is bashing him. How many big men are polished 2 years into the league? He goes 100% everynight, takes cheapshots, and has a strong passion for the game. I have never seen a 2nd year player crucified more than in this thread, and im not even a big blakers fan
Dude, most NBA players go 100% each night, take cheap shots and have passion for the game or they wouldn't be in the NBA.
Kevin Love and Lamarcus Aldridge are so much better than Blake Griffin yet get half the publicity he does. Luis Scola and David Lee have numbers that are comparable to Blake Griffin and are much more polished basketball players yet they get no notice. He's not a good NBA player right now.
Not sure if you watch the same NBA as me, but no one has taken the kind of cheap shots Griffin has all year. People are scared to get dunked on and are fouling him like no one else. Secondly, plenty of players take nights off and dont go full speed. Im not saying he is better than Love or Aldridge, and I dont think many people are making that argument. But Aldridge is in Portland and they were horrible this year so he isn't going to get that much pub. Kevin Love got more ESPN run than anyone this year and it was deserved. Scola and Lee are older than Griffin and they get similar numbers. An emphasis is put on his dunking ability but people aren't saying he is a better basketball player than all those guys you listed
Dude, Griffin gets fouled like everyone else in the NBA. He gets FOULED but you think it's a cheap shot because he flops around like a European soccer player. I guarantee you no NBA player is intimidated or scared of any other player. You don't get to the NBA, MLB or the NFL by being scared of anyone. It's not in their DNA to be scared on the athletic field of play.
Let me ask you this. If you are asked to create a list with 20 names of guys to be considered for the U.S. Olympic Team, is Griffin on that list? My answer is "hell no."
I didn't say he is a top 20 player. But you said he is not a good NBA player and thats wrong. Its not even an argument.
This doesn't happen to many other players:
You hate him for some reason, not sure why. Not saying hes great, but hes very good, he is young, and he can get better
He's not very good. Has no defense, no jump shot and no real inside game outside of three feet. He can't shoot free throws and shits his pants when he plays a great player. He's not that great.
.
So even with all that he still gets 20 and 7 a game? Just think of how great he is going to be if he learns how to play basketball.
20 points a game. 10 from dunks, 2 from 15 free throw attempts and 8 from put backs or lay ins. I'm sorry to say man but very little guys that follow basketball will agree with you on this. But maybe Barkley, Smith, Shaq and all of those guys are just wrong.
