WOW! Watching CNN now...Sooners, how many homes actually have bunkers/shelters would you say? Hopefully everyone (heard 6 dead so far?) survives, butif this was my 2nd or 3rd rebuild, the next one would be nowhere near Moore, OK or the Midwest.
There are more homes now with safe rooms, but as far as underground shelters, very very few. I've always questioned how good a safe room really is if you were to get hit head on by an F4/F5 tornado. These tornadoes have been known to even tear up the asphalt streets in their path.

The search for the 25 kids at the school is now a recovery mission. All dead...Very sad.

Only trained "First Responders" are allowed in disaster areas. I'm sure they have their reasons for it. I know even the local reporters were pretty shaken up when they took the first 7 kids from that school. They said it appeared they had all drowned in the water beneath the rubble. They are still recovering the others. But I think it would be a miracle if they found any of them alive.

The Salvation Army has asked people to text STORM to 80888 to donate $10 to the relief efforts.

those poor families that lost loved ones....I cant imagine....the tornado that came through Edmond last night (about two miles from my house) was play time compared to this one.....I dont see how anyone would rebuild a home in Moore again....

37 confirmed dead, and from what I read, this doesn't include the children still being recovered from the school that was leveled.

You couldn't pay me to live in Moore. Not only because of the tornados, but because that city is getting very populated. Which makes this disaster much worse. Ironically a friend of mine who lives in Moore called me last night to see if I was okay after the Edmond tornado. He lives right in the path of the tornado that hit today. Only a few blocks from the elementary school that got wiped out. So I'm fearing the worst. I've tried to contact him for the last couple of hours, but even the cell phones are dead.
