You were one of the guys I tried for. Just is not me. I do not care about being tracked, just like to confabulate in the forums. When you get attacked by the Wynn's best restroom attendant, you know you have hit bottom. Thanks for the wakeup call kissee. I will just do what I have always done. And go back to not caring what you say. Works a lot better as you can continue to take shots. In the NBA forum, you can jump right in the thread and attack, feel free, just do not expect a response or ak. I am not really thrilled with curmudgeons like you. Kind that pile on when you have a bad day...OF :howdy:

Strange, I never see you in my threads when I do well.

Confabulate ? Please don't make up words OF. We can all disagree about things. Inventing words doesn't help matters !

Billy Walters walks on water??

He buys onto 2, not off it. I assure all that great handicapping skills in all areas (and great betting skills in some areas) does not make anyone immune to mistakes.........especially subtle small mistakes like when to buy in marginal situations.

Whatever : Fezz and Frog have their issues, as well as Shrink. It's all close. The consensus basically isn't very far apart. It's too close too call decisivally. Personally I'm over it !

Let's move on and not debate it ! I can like all 3, or debate them. Fezz seems to have best logic.

5 certainly didn't look bad tonight ala the Seattle closing line. Wish I had been home closer to game time, had 3 to 4!

Nimue: Seen too many gimme buckets off the 5. Teams more concerned about giving up the trey allow easier shots in close.[/QUOTE] -- OF

Agree that this thread has been informative. Was responding to the Shrink's question regarding anyone in this thread stepping forward to write a monthly piece on handicapping. Unfortunately, no one answered him. Believe it would be a valuable addition to the RX and it's many members, posters and viewers.

OMT, my next article will be another addition to the Shrink's views here about NBA playoff betting. I obviously write to a more "basic" audience than the Shrink normally does, but I too would love to hear the upper echelon, if you will, posting more theory. The issue I find that keeps people from posting such things is the idiots out there that get fired up trying to take a shot at others. Imagine if someone writes 10 points and 9 of them are great nuggets of info. The 10th is so so or even off a bit. There are plenty who will jump all over the 10th and try to discredit the person because of it, as if the other 9 are no good as well.

Truth is this is bound to happen. Every single one of us has some little faults in our plans of attack, and they might not even be apparent to us. I find it great if someone finds that fault in my plan of attack and am glad to hear it, because it makes me better. However I find most gamblers, one don't like to hear it, and two, hate getting called on the carpet as if one hole ruins everything they do.

In the end there are millions of ways to approach this game we call sports betting. Most are losing approaches, but some figure out winning approaches. Are they 100% perfect? Of course not, no one will completely master it. We all have our weak spots. In the end though if you are a winner and have something to share, most of us wish you would and would be thankful you did. Myself and the Shrink have reasons to be more obviously compelled to share stuff for others, but it would be a great day if we had a flood of informative posts hitting this site. Unfortunately I think we both know what I just wrote here is going to keep those sorts of posts limited and it is everyone's loss.

MILLENIUM,

I don't know how you KNEW I'd be on the WIZARDS today, but you were right. I wish you the best of luck on your parlay, as I will be pulling for you to also WIN with WASHINGTON...

Kiss1 & WildBill,

Thanks for th kudos you gave me for writing something like this. Now I know what WildBill goes through on a REGULAR BASIS, but for selfish reasons, I'd love to see WB respond in the FORUM more often...

Guys, it's really hard to expose oneself to the constant bashing that goes on when someone has a different opinion...

Whether I agree or not, I respect and admire posters who take the time and energy to share nuggests of information in an attempt to help all of us become sharper at sports betting....

I appreciate that WILD BILL has stated he would post a follow up to my last read, and once again, there are so many sharps in this thread that could help all of us out by doing the same...

What about you, OldmanTed?

Thanks,

THE SHRINK

WildBill, I really have always appreciated your efforts. We all need to have good fundamentals and I believe we need to re-visit the basics often to help keep us grounded in what we are doing. Thanks and keep it up. tulsa

WildBill:

Very much appreciate your response and have always enjoyed reading your articles. Believe that you are very much on the mark once again regarding why people would shy away from providing valuable insight into the principles they use in handicapping various sports. It certainly can discourage the writer when one presents ideas to assist the forum only to be ridiculed. Hopefully, that could be minimized in the future if the readers can check their egos at the door yet provide meaningful responses that would generate intelligent discussion.

Shrink:

As to this thread, actually never felt that there was bashing going on here, other then the banter regarding the Celtics/Pacers game. Truly feel the discussion regarding whether or not to buy on or off 2 points, or points at all for the matter was a valuable and lively topic and expected that to be the single element that received the most discussion. That aside, your presentation on handicapping in the NBA still remains a valuable tool for the forum, it's members, posters and viewers.

As to your question regarding sharing of my approach on handicapping methods for various sports, from the time I joined the RX, it has always been my desire to share what knowledge I may have. That desire still remains today.

Real good thread, but I just have to agree with the MASTER BW on buying to 2, this man doesnt give nothing away, bottom line he is defintely successful, kinda hard to argue against that. I seen this man have BOOKIES talking them self, he really is that good, he is in a class all by himself, hopefully oneday I can join him.

It is not worth 10 cents to buy the 2 or any other number, on or off. I don't like paying over 6 for any 1/2 point.

You wont ever see him buying off of 2, reason he doesnt is because he cant lose the bet if it falls 2, its not worth 10cents doing that, but to prevent from losing a bet his belief is worth buying up to 2. that has to be the reason why he never buys off of 2. I have never in life seen anybody even CLOSE to this man picking winners, its like he does it for fun.

Rainbow, Shrink............guys....

RAINBOW says.....

"Real good thread, but I just have to agree with the MASTER BW on buying to 2,"

i think its wise to caution players about Bw's betting strategy, why??? because BW can do things that 90% of other bettors cant do....line manipulation and his true intentions (maybe even buying on the #2) are something that the average bettor can only speculate........

Rainbow also says..."
"seen this man have BOOKIES talking them self, he really is that good, he is in a class all by himself"

I know for a fact this is true.......i have seen firsthand.....and have scratched my head...why sometimes his bets would not make any sense...because of line-movement for or against)

imo......bettors should use sound money management, do their homework when it comes to handicapping, use betting strategies (ie. buying pts) that they are comfortable with, and realize that because some gamblers can get away with certain strategies, doesnt mean they can....gl
