I'm sorry but you don't know the situation and I didn't think the question required an explanation.[/QUOTE
Of course your always right so why did you ask
Just hire the neighbor kid for 5 bucks next time
Hell next time fly your local guy out
Who cares
I'm always right?
I asked the question because I don't know the answer to the question. You don't like me for whatever reason and tried to take a shot with a comment about multiple quotes which had nothing to do with the question or answer.
Who cares is right so don't comment if you don't care. Easy stuff.
$2000 in labor, overhead and profit for a week's worth of work. He uses his tools, has to order the supplies, maintain scheduling, have insurance, maintain licenses, pull permits, keep his books, on and on. Lets say he can get a job like that every single week (highly unlikely), that's only $100k before any expenses per year. He's working an extra 10+ hours/week in travel, hardware store trips, trips to the bank/accountant/insurance office, training for specialized tasks. I just don't think you realize what all you're paying for. It's not as easy as him showing up and doing the tasks you need him for. If he's doing it right, it's much more than that. Plus you're paying for his skills. If it was easy, you'd be doing it.
Are you fucking kidding me?
No, not kidding. A good handyman skilled in multiple trades is worth $100k before any expenses. Hell, people pay more than $50/hour for someone to rub their backs in some markets. All that takes is a room and a table and that person can also make 100k if they can maintain 40.
