$100/hour to do that?!? Hells no...climb up that tiny ass pole and change a frickin light bulb yo ass must be on crack!!! That the sickest job I ever seen. That shit better pay 5 figures every time you climb that death pipe.

The guys that do this stuff are a different breed of crazy. I think you can hire this kind of person for $100 hour/ 200k a year. It seems on par with logging workers, crab fisherman, etc. I don't think they make 200k.

I would venture to say that Alaskan fisherman do not die all the time KON. Let's not go overboard (no pun intended).

he was actually pretty accurate with his statement.

http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/fishing/

its not the overwhelming number that die, but rather the number that die compared to number doing the job. 15 fishermen die doesnt sound that high, but when you only have like 400 guys doing it, thats like 4 percent, you might have 100 drivers die, but thousands are doing it.

I never ever got beat-I just run out of Money

So what? Maybe I don't know as much as I think about commercial fishing but it doesn't seem too dangerous. I can imagine being a taxi cab driver in NYC would be much more dangerous. Either a cab driver or one of PO69's patients.

This may be what their referring to.......Another insane job IMO......

I did some research on salary/hr rate and I guess it depends on what state your in; but from what I read the going rate is around $25-30 an hour... I couldn't believe what I read; most of them make under 60k a year.

Fishermen die because they either drown in a storm, or go overboard and freeze in Alaska, Sweden, etc... They also use heavy machinery that is all wet for commercial fishing.. (cages, metal things that pull, rigs, etc)... U can imagine one coming onsnapped and killing someone.

Commercial pilots for small companies have very high crash rates. While commercial air and major private air is very safe, fly by night operations are not (sightseeing planes, etc)
