exactly...depending on the people at the table ill still bet big trying to get them out

Tough to lay down KK AA but its not a guaranteed winner, many people play it as though it is. Dante's play is the right play imo, you can't assume you're a winner or a loser after the flop, the only way to know is to continue to bet it aggressively, if someone comes back at you, then you have a decision to make based on your knowledge of your opponent. Many times when in position I will represent a hand before the flop and bet it hard after without catching any cards, surprising how many hands you win when you do this. You obviously can't attempt this too often or its not effective.

I played two sit and go's yesterday and busted out first in both of them, both on the first hand with KK and AA in each of them


1st time I had KK so I move all in figuring to double up early, guy calls with J-9 gets a straight

2nd time I had AA So I move all in figuring I cant bust out on the first hand two times in a row guy calls with remarkably --J-9 again! different players, and remarkably hits the straight again!!

I hate slow playing those kinds of cards in tournaments so I figured why not. I have folded AA pre flop when being up big in tourneys before and would have lost if I played some of those , but I guess from here on out I will be second guessing myself after throwing away money for two sit and gos in a combined total of about 30 seconds

J 9 calling you is assanine, I wonder what would've happenned if you had only had half your chips in b4 the flop and if they needed to draw for a str8 if they would call you for the other half their stack after the flop? May not have made a difference when you're playing against someone without a clue.

One memorable AA laydown was when I was playing a limit game at the Mirage. Super loose game, so plenty of pots were capped pre-flop, as was this hand. I think there were about 5 callers.

Flop was something like 9-J-Q rainbow, one bet in front of me, I raised, re-raised behind me and capped again. I knew once there were 3 people in I was in trouble; turn comes another Q. I stubbornly called the bets on the turn, and finally layed down the aces after no help came on the river. Very big pot, K-10 took down KQ.

I guess that's what you get with lower limit- limit hold 'em. Was pretty much on tilt afterwards, calling with all kinds of crap hands to try to catch up.

6-9 I call it big lick. Sister to Big Chick AQ and brother to Big Slick AK.

I will bet KK preflop if a Ace comes I will fire into the pot again. If I get play back I will usually try to check the turn or fold if I get raised. It really does not matter if an Ace flops. Betting into a flop with KK when Ace flops others might put u on AK, AA, and in turn laydown AX. I will let them make the decsion if they want to continue after the flop and call or raise a big raise.

I play AA very aggresive and try to issolate to 1 caller preflop. I usually push harder after the flop then win the pot there.

But it all depends on who I am playing. Different strokes for different folks.

Good advice, unfortunately I don't usually realize I was on tilt until the $$$ is gone!

Pocket AA or Kings are strong heads up but with two or more callers, proceed with caution. The usual scenario with high pockets is you'll probably get max 2 callers because you've most likely bumped it up a good amount. With heads up, you can bet aggresively no matter what the flop because the percentages are good. With two callers, I will proceed with caution. If you're going up against two good players, if they are calling your flop bet, assuming you bet strong, you are most likely going up against two pair or an eight outer. Keep in mind, this is against solid players. Proceed with caution on the turn. One move that I like to do when playing a live cash game is on the flop, I will bet strong and announce to the caller "You must know what you're going up against...". The reasoning for this is with Pocket Aces or Kings, your best situation is an all-in showdown with 1 caller. If I'm getting two callers, I want them to know that I have pocket aces or kings and I will be satisfied with taking down the pot right there with no turn. If you make a strong flop bet and they are still calling, I will usually be cautious of two pair. Take a look at the turn and see if you can get a good read on the caller. If they come out with a strong bet, laying down the monster will not be a bad play because you have to ask yourself, are you willing to lose all of your chips with one pair?

KK vs. A2

Once an Ace flops, your KK isn't nearly as good as Ace-duck.

Curiously, the same people that would check and fold with A2 in a A-9-6 flop, are willing to fire in a big bet with KK! Ridiculous, given that A2 is a better hand at that point, AND has the advantage of taking out 1 of the 3 missing aces.

IMO, JJ, QQ, or KK with an Ace flop is a check and fold situation with 2 or more opponents left.

Dante, Funny, I love Q-8 (or 9) suited too, but only under certain conditions, like in the blinds. When you win with it though, people sometimes get pissed, like wtf did you call with 8 Q for??
