$200 max. search ebay and you will see ebay stores offering that card for that price "buy now". Those stores typically over price. My guess is that an auction will bring in $150. Best thing to do is hold onto it and, if you really want to sell, wait until he has a big game.

I personally pulled an AP rookie auto from Topps Finest. It is numbered 1 of 25. Xfractor. I can get $500 right now, but this might be a keeper

The ones on ebay stores are for ungraded versions

good point. perhaps $300-$350 is my guess based on what I see in auctions with graded cards. "Topps Performance" is not a high level product so it will have a ceiling

If I could get $500 now, there is a good chance you could replace it cheaper.

I am going to try an unload it during exhibition season and then pick up a Topps Chrome refractor Auto #'d to 25. I like the look of the Topps Chrome card much better than Finest Xfractor even though Finest is better card stock.

How hard would it be to have a Jordan PSA 9 graded then replace the card with a PSA 8 and sell it? Then repeat the process? would a normal person ever know the difference?

What are the chances you buy the BCCCGC (I iforget) Jordan gem mint 10 and have it re-graded by the others and possibly have another 10? (I understand they have lower standards but I would think a typical BCGC 10 = a PSA range of 8-10...so a PSA 10 is possible)

Answer 1 : PSA and other reputable grading companies have tamper evident cases.....They are sealed with a sonic welding machine. The cases if tampered with show possible cracks and/or cloudyness in case due to air exposure. These are very easy to tell if tampered with period.

However : the sonic machines are sold to companies (big bucks) who seal there own cases (if they are grading company) and PSA or the like cases could maybe get out on the black market in a small quantity, but then u still would have to worry about the Serial number/bar code/ and tracking system PSA has in place through internet, NOT TO MENTION the grading system is about as high tech and inventory kept up as a US MINT/Major Bank/and Federal Reserve. The reason why they are so large is because they allow set registry on the internet so collectors can collect the highest grade psa sets (i.e. PSA 10 1986/87 Fleer NBA (jordans rookie year) entire set -- SO SURE its possible...but very unlikely in large quantity as u are speaking...AND it is a huge offense that PSA nor top companies take lightly and they will pursue u with the long arm 100% and standby the product that they encapsulate if fake/phony/mis-graded 100% as well.

Answer 2. U are correct in assuming that a BCCG jordan could grade a PSA 10 or a BVG 9.5 or 10 *sure*.......BUT the one thing u are missing is that people who do grade cards...have probably graded 100s of them and also have bought 100s of them over time. They know and expect what range they will get (give or take 1.5-2 grades) and also know which company is more leniant on what things. PSA has sub grades for miscut ( MC) and off center (OC) so those look horrid on a card of any kind, so they may send to BCCG and get a 9 (not the 10 we are referring to) because they dont mark subgrades..or qualifiers. Understand now?

ALSO another important thing to remember is..most people who would put a card into a case of GEM / BCCG/ PRO/ etc etc etc do it for a reason to try and pass it by as a perfect card when its not. THEY ARE NOT DUMB. If the card was TRUELY PERFECT then it would be worth THE TOP DOLLAR amount it has ever recieved through any auction or private sale.

i.e. we will pretend its like jordan card and PSA and BVG are one in same
and BCCG is the BCCG/GEM/PRO/FGS/etc etc etc companies who are horrid.

Player A rookie card worth 1200$ raw (no grade or encapsulation) in beckett listed as near mint

Player A rookie card in PSA 10 holder is $3500-5500 +++

Player A rookie card in PSA 9 holder is $1000-1500
Player A rookie card in PSA 8 holder is $ 750-1000
Player A rookie card in PSA 7 holder is $ 500-750

Player a rookie card in BCCG 10 holder is $650-1000

now u ask why wasnt it encapsulated in PSA if it would be worth more if PSA 10 (try 5-6 times as much!!!) and even if it is downgraded to PSA 9 its still easily sellable and most common Jordan wanted is PSA 9

BECAUSE a BCCG 10 could be a PSA 7 PSA 7 is Nrmt so if BCCG 10 is mint then it isnt that far off along there grades....but to psa it is.

In other words NO SELLER or NO COLLECTOR with any knowledge of any kind would ever grade a Perfect card with a Junk Grading company unless they had a reason of some kind. (more than likely to take advantage)...

OR OFFER SOMEONE A JORDAN BECKETT PERFECT for $1000

he almost bought it...luckily he is a poster.....understand now?

GL in ur journey

I was into collecting cards back in the early and mid 80's they couldnt give away basketball cards until Jordan come along wish I would have bought some now. I remember seeing the Star sets of cards at a cardshow for dirt cheap.

CAUTION:
This is only if u are referring to the 84/85 Olympic Gold cards with stars down sides. If not then I will address the other kind if u named the set wrong. (the other possible set is 84/85 star setwhich def is worth more but has nothing to do with olympics and the cards came in team bags sealed, not a grouping of stars)

Believe it or not this Jordan ("card people like to call or think is a rookie") isn't very rare at all...it is a later "promo card"..They were mass produced even more than the regular base cards and at some points given away as door prizes to the fans at certain games.

Of course the Jordan card is the premier card of the set, and being that they sell for 15$ or less (most of the time 5$-1$) I don't think its going to be worth that much to lick your chops over. HOWEVER it probably is nice idea to keep these sealed (for sure) and keep saving them till he is hall of famed(and years after).

There is definitly alot of jordans, and others players out there sure...BUT the sets are proabably few and far between, and even fewer yet are SEALED sets (so that is really the secret).

Estimated value : 1 set sealed nrmt/mint condition: 30-200+ (on its best day from an interested collector)

On a side note, I havent seen many of these on ebay in past and I definitly zero in on jordan items quite often.

If u want to find out the real price of these only way to tell is let market decide. Start ur auction on ebay at 99cents...advertise it well and give lots of facts, and let the buyers decide...I know for sure none have been listed in a very long time...especially sealed rather then hand collected, so I could be very wrong on the price...hopefully for ur sake.

GL and happy selling/saving!

Beware of some Star sets as well. There were some fakies going around 5-6 years ago by one of the shopping networks that were somehow able to reprint in mint condition the cards from the set but not listed as reprints and numbering was different if I can recollect.
