Only one jordan rookie graded a BGS 10 and it is worth more than 25k there are 101 graded BGS 9.5. Becareful it is not a BCCG10 which is also by becket but that is a bulk grade not a real grade BCCG 10 i have cracked and submited have come back as low as a BGS7. So buyer beware. Beckett is highly respected in the industry and the BGS 9.5 and BGS 10 sell for more than any PSA10 for sure. Not that i would pass up a PSA 10 Jordan rookie at the right price.

It is a BCCG 10, thanks all you guys with your advice. I think I'll stay away. It's too confusing for me!

Jordan rookie are a great buy at this time. If I was going to uy any card it would be 1st another Jordan Rookie and then maybe a 100 count of Hakeem olajuwon rookies only because they can be picked up cheap right now.

in most instances yes.

A rookie card autographed will detract from value....but a 2nd year card adds about 50%...and so on for years to follow.

the one time it will add value is to a rookie is once again the rarity of signed cards/items by player.....if they never sign..a signed copy is obviously worth more.

In all instances though..the better grade a card recieves will surpass any signed version (which usually tends to be worn/not Mint examples)

good decision....unless he is willing to come down on price to 700-800 it really isnt a deal since the peak of this card right now is 1000$ but i have recently seen one sell for 750$

In any case...if u are serious about picking up a jordan rookie for around 1000$

I would recommend getting a PSA 9 or a BVG(BGS) 8-9

Those will hold value when market is stale and raise in value equally when its at its peak. Even if u do pay 1000$ or near these can easily get over the 1800$ -2000 mark very quickly and have been to 2500+ before when Jordan items are at its hot time.....With the recession looming, and people selling items to pay for gas...u may in the coming months get some unbelieveable deals....Keep ur eyes peeled.
These will all be great invstments for Hall of Fame induction in years to come.

FYI, I've got a BGS 9.5 Jordan I'd be willing to sell if any of you highrollers out there are interested. I paid 8200 for it. Probably won't get that much for it now though.

I believe it has 2 9.5 subgrades too. I've gotta go get it out of the safe dep. box.

I've got a 1975 topps bgs 9.5 pete rose as well. (not the mini) It's the only one in existence. Bought it for 2k. Would be happy to get 2k for it now.

Running thin on coin. I've got many more good bgs cards too. My email is pokerhelp@hotmail.com

I'd surely put these on ebay to assure you that this isn't a joke so you can see my 200+ positive feedback.

I've got a handful of mantles, aarons and a johnny bench rc I'm sending in this week. The mantles are flawless. Slim chance that they may be the highest graded older mantle cards on the population report. We'll see though.

Keep an eye on bvg cards on ebay. Their going up for sale the day I get them back.

I remember buying these at $20 a pop and the set for $40, that was prior to him winning his first title.
They shot up around $2000 for the set when I had sold the last one.

Some good info in this thread.

Autographed cards come in two ways. A Jordan rookie autographed is worth his autograph price maybe a small premium for the auto. So say around $1000. In most cases this would not be the norm due to jordans autograph is valued at such a large dollar amount. Now the second and most common example is today most high dollar rookies come signed from the factory. Example UD Esq Lebron James rookie is $7000 or more signed and numbered to like 99. Other example a signed Nolan Ryan rookie card will only bring $300 when a gem mint nolan ryan rookie will bring $2000. Depends on the card for sure and also the collector thaat is purchasing it.

Green I remember buying the packs at 7/11 for 10 cents a pack and make about 4 sets per box. I also sold a unopen case that I purchased back then for about $70 at the national in Dallas I think in 1990 for 60k and the guy I sold all my sets to took a second on his house to buy them. Funny how things work.

Isn't PSA known as the industry leader? Looking at a Jordan rookie gem mint 10 graded by Beckett for $1,000. How much do they go for in the market? been out of the card market for a long time and thinking of investing my money in graded rookies.

Becket has 2 grading services BGS and Beckett. They are 2 very real different things.

Beckett is what Home Shopping Network uses to scam people, and by the sounds of what you are saying this card is graded by Beckett, not BGS.
Because there is almost no such thing as a BGS 10gem mint. A BGS gem mint is worth at least $4000 bucks. Beckett will put a 10 on almost any decent card. 9.5 is the highest grade I have ever heard for a jordan rookie from BGS.

ok - i'm confused. about the grading companies. BGS vs. Beckett. For example. search ebay completed auctions item # 130229436514 which is an adrian peterson rookie topps autograph. the ebay ad says BGS but the photo clearly shows "beckett". are they one and the same?

This isn't that complicated. BGS and BCCG are both grading services offered by Beckett.

BCCG (Beckett Collectors Club Grading) is the garden variety grading service. Only grades in whole point increments and offers no specific grading for the four categories of corners, centering, edges and surface used by the BGS service.

BGS is the real grading services offered by Beckett. It gives the total grade of a card in half point increments as well as the specific grades for the corners, centering, edges and surface of a card.

I recently pulled this 2007 Topps Performance Adrian Peterson auto /135 and sent it into Beckett for grading and got a 9.5 and a 9 auto. Still trying to figure out what I could get for it.

$200 max. search ebay and you will see ebay stores offering that card for that price "buy now". Those stores typically over price. My guess is that an auction will bring in $150. Best thing to do is hold onto it and, if you really want to sell, wait until he has a big game.

I personally pulled an AP rookie auto from Topps Finest. It is numbered 1 of 25. Xfractor. I can get $500 right now, but this might be a keeper

If I could get $500 now, there is a good chance you could replace it cheaper.
