My initial thoughts were the Yankees...and after looking it over I'm still with the Yankees. They hit Fister really well overall and did so as well last outing. Leyland said Verlander will not be available. Nova looked good against Detroit last outing, Girardi announced CC is available, and Mo is there to close it down. Gotta go with the Yankees tonight

yeah, Id take the same as I took yesterday with the same pitchers going, just how baseball goes sometimes, and in the postseason, anything can happen which what makes it even more tougher.

It will be tough for the brewers to beat Kennedy twice in the same series, but they are at home, and Brewers have there best pitcher hurling too.

Carpenter got rocked his first outing at Philly, and Halladay is really hard to bet against

Damn, I should've known better than to take a team at high juice that can have such stagnant batting. Just goes to show that you can have the best pitching in MLB but can't win without putting some runs on the board. I have to give credit to Carpenter though...he pitched one hell of a game.

With bias aside, I truly see Texas going to the WS
Also, I see Milwaukee going to the WS

I had already picked these two going prior to the beginning of the playoffs. My opinion has not changed. Therefore, I'm going to throw a little down on each to win its respective series.

Today? Texas vs Verlander?

This is a tough one. Texas played Verlander once this year and beat him 2-0. The Rangers don't hit him well but Detroit doesn't hit CJ well either. Honestly, I can't put a finger on this one but I'm playing the Rangers small just for fun

I hope for Texas to split Verlander starts in the series, and I think they have the advantage against Porcello and Fister. Porcello is not that good and Texas has hit Fister very well in the past. Scherzer can be inconsistent and Texas hits righties well...not too concerned about him either

Playoff Record: 5-5

Tonight:

I hate to go against my Rangers, but I just can't ignore the numbers:

Det vs. Lewis: In 150 ABs (overall), .340 BA with .388 OBP, 6 HRs, 29 RBIs. This season: 7.1 innings pitched in 2 starts and given up 13 ERs (4 IP 4 ER, 3.1 IP, 9 ERs). The Tigers really have his number. Devil's advocate: Lewis has been lights out in the playoffs. 5-0 with sub 2.00 ERA. I would rather go with what his history against Detroit shows though.

Tex vs. Fister: In 148 ABs (overall), .268 BA with .291 OBP, 3 HRs, 15 RBIs. This season: In 2 starts, pitched 7+ innings each start. 7 innings pitched with 2 ERs (@ Comerica) and 7.2 innings pitched with 4 ERs. Not bad numbers against Texas. Outside of one bad start at NY, he has been great majority of the season especially coming over to Detroit.

Throw in Tex is 2-4 at Detroit this season

Any leans on over/under?

Sorry, I just got in and saw this question. I did not have a lean on the total.

Despite taking an over early in the Ari/Mil series, I'm always very hesitant to take over in the playoffs especially this deep into it. Managers tend to keep pitchers on a short leash and do everything they can to keep the score low. With that being said, the over happens (like the grand slam walk off by Cruz yesterday) at times but I'm careful to play it.
