On the set of
Act of Love, (a movie that Kirk Douglas filmed with Brigitte Bardot), a German-born Belgian woman was working on the movie as Sub-Titler, Translator, whatever she with her language skills was needed for.
Part of that would sometimes involve translating between Production Crew and Actors.
One of those actors on the film fell in love with her.
This wasn't just any actor.
He was a Huge Star and the Star of the movie.
She was Anne Budyens. The following year her name would become Anne Budyens Douglas when she and Kirk Douglas married.
62 Years later, they are still married today.
In a brilliant demonstration of Why You Should Not Just Automatically believe stuff on Wikileaks, on there it says that Kirk met Anne while filming
Lust For Life the film he did about Vincent Van Gogh for which Principal photography started in August 1955 which, were this the true time that Kirk and Anne met since they married on May 29, 1954 would have had them somehow not meeting each other until 15 months after their wedding.
Throughout their married life Anne & Kirk Douglas have been among if not THE most generous couples in Hollywood, donating to various charities and many many individuals who needed help, already giving away a majority of their $80 Million fortune with plans to make donation of more.
