He also made contact with me... because I kind of know him. and Yes, thought of him to be a Stand up guy.

In his PM to me he made No comment about the Possible Michigan win, and that Defying would have been a winner if they had won.

I also Told him to go to this Thread and defend his side. I got No reply and I also see he still hasn't looked in this thread.

Defying you have a few choices.... You can Send him the $80 or whatever the money was to go to the 2nd prize winner, and Keep the rest.
OR, just give him the whole thing and Out him as a Free Roller.

Maybe he will come in here and Talk... but doesn't look like it.
Probably because he knows he is in the Wrong here.....

I will go back to ... IF Michigan had Won....
But they didn't.

Either way... Your Choice

Thanks for your help BAS...

I've refunded him the $80 already, I do not have any right to that what so ever.

I do not want to out him, because it may just be a misunderstanding and if we all make mistakes...

Ideally, I would like him to read the thread, then let me know his piece, go from there, and hopefully be on good standing as we were before.

I used to run Alot of Pools....
The Host Of The Pool Should've Never Made The Offer
To You.
Plain & Simple...
Michigan Lost
You Finished In 6th
Were Not In The Money

I Know It's Hard To Hand Money Back
Once It's In Your Hand, But He Obviously
Made A Mistake....Michigan Lost/You Lost
Give It Back

think its pretty black and white that a split was offered and that should be the end of it (obviously based upon either of u 2 being the only ones who could possibly win at that time)....the outcome means shit at that point like stated above...is this guy now claiming 1st place all by himself? if he would have lost what place would he have dropped to? it all sounds pretty shady honestly

Coming from a Big Lottery Winner....lol
I guess you Don't understand this............

The Host came to Defying with an offer from the Other guy.
If Michigan would have WON... Defying was the Sole Winner..... if Louisville Wins ( which they did ) the OTHER guy would have won... which he did.

There was ONLY TWO people that could have won... one of them was Defying.

Championship winner was worth 32 points...

As you see, I was in 1st place by 13 points (subtract 32 from all Louisville backers)

If Michigan wins, I win the pool by 55. I had both louisville and Michigan in the final game, but with Michigan winning.

Yes but not here...that is saying the guy who wasnt offered a split and took second gets nothing?

I am assuming MrMark is just siding that I have a right to some money, which the Host is saying I no right because I finished in 6th

I misunderstood, thought the dispute was for AFTER the result of the Championship game which placed you in 6th...

If BEFORE the game you and the guy who split are # 1 & 2 then imo you still have the right to the money

I read more now and think you did the right thing

you get a split of first 50/50 :103631605

were you finished doesn't matter only 2 can win agreed to split first

the problem was Lou guy was counting 2nd place in the bag let me take a shot at half of first if Mich wins

he should of never offered a 50/50 split more like 80/20 since you don't get anything with a Lou win

he was just looking to bump up his second place payout

This thread, and the host, are friggin stupid. Obviously if Lville wins you weren't going to get 2nd place so that money should never have been in play. The "offer" also should have never involved the host, it should have been man to man between you and the Louisville dude - the only two potential 1st place winners. Give the $80 back, take your rightful 1st place split, and tell the guy to go fuck himself for being a horrible host. He better damn well pay the 2nd place guy because he had nothing to do with anything. How he handles the 1st place guy is his problem, but if he had half a brain he would man up and say he made a math mistake and the winner is only entitled to the same amount you are.

This is why you don't do money pools with strangers of questionable mental and moral capacity.

He should of never offered the split with at least 2nd locked in

It was really your call to offer as you were all in or all out

The guy running the pool should have never come into the equation offering any kind of split. It would be like the Hilton on the last week telling the two guys tied for first you want to split first and second place money? They both go 0-5 and the guys in 3rd, 4th and 5th all passing them.

I understand the math of how the $305 came into place, that's easy. However the pool runner should have run through all the scenarios of finishes and in reality never got involved.

I would've sent the $80 back that truly didn't belong to me and would've kept the split for the first place money, which was the $225. Since that was the final outcome you come out with $225, the winner still has his split scenario in tact and the guy in second wins what he realistically would've won.

Mistakes happen and all of this over $80 isn't worth your time. You look good in the end when most guys would've been pricks saying F U.

This scenario the winner is getting kind of jobbed here....why is this guy getting the same amount as defying?

before the game was played.

a) EV for winner was $305 ($450 divided by 2 and $160 divided by 2)
b) EV for defying was $225 ($450 1st divided by 2)
c) EV for other dude was $80 ($160 total prize divided by 2)

c got fucked so he should get his $160. Between a and b, why should it be the payout to c is coming out 100% from a's EV?

but i fully agree that mistakes happen and this is too much drama for $80

Defying , i think i'm going to change my mind.

You should keep all the money. Yesterday i was in favor of refunding half the money so the pool host would only be out a little , but if he's a member here and won't even come to the thread to explain the honest mistake then screw him, let him eat it.

...And even when the split was agreed to he shouldn't have paid the money until the game was over.

He screwed up , let him fix it.
