Your second statement reads...."If Michigan Wins, I win in a landslide. If Louisville Wins, I don't cash." In reality you lost. No money.

BUT They fucked up offering you a split which makes no sense why they would in the first place.

My question is why are they offering a split to someone who according to vegas odds has more of a chance of losing. Why not keep it legit and whoever wins gets the prize money.

The question is which of the 2 factors takes more precedence?

1) You legitimately didnt win so you should give the money back
2) They offered you a split so you took it. Thats an agreement between men. And they fucked up.

I vote 2

He shouldnt give all the money back b/c he agreed to a split when he could have won.

The pool manager fuced up bigtime. Defying can let him pay for his mistake , or he could give a partial refund. But it's all the pool hosts fault and he's got to take some blame.

Defying, you are entitled to $225 in the chop, but other guy was entitled to $305 in the "chop"....you have to pay $80, but even after that we are still $80 short

Right, BUT if Michigan would have won he would have won the $225 (chop of 1st place) AND the Full $160 of 2nd place...

It wasn't he was due to lose out.. he would have been the won to come out even further ahead.

I am in complete agreement that I have no right to $80 of this

i don't know any of the parties involved but i'm sure when he got $305 he thought that was it....he was not thinking 2nd place gets him another $80...no way

Seems like the fair thing to do is for the two guys (you and whoever) to split the 1st place cash and then send each half of the second place prize to the second place finisher so he gets his whole cash prize. Your position and agreement before the final outcome is what counts once u agreed to a split with the eventual winnner and your position of 6th after the fact doesn't mean anything. Chop was agreed to hence its over and the second place finisher was overlooked , but he should still collect as he did win that spot.

Agree... because Defying was the KEY to the split..............

The Host is 100% Wrong...............

The Key to the Offer was Defying, because everyone else had Louisville... even though it moved more people a head of him.. didn't matter because the same guy that wanted the Deal, Won.
If Michigan would have Won ... nobody else would have said Boo...

Split should be 50/50 on the 1st place Prize.

in this case $225 each.

Why should the guy who agreed to take take $305 in the split (legitimately had claim to 1st and 2nd) have to only get a split of 1st abd not 2nd?

The deal was between the Two possible Winners... Because the Host made a Math mistake why should the other guy get $305 ?
1st place Prize was ?? $450 ? the deal was for 1st place and shouldn't have been made for the whole Pot.

that is the host's fault, not the guys who agreed to the split. if i'm sitting there going to win 1st or 2nd no matter what, and agree to just split the pot, i better get half the total pot. if i was told split 1st place then i can root for 2nd knowing i get half of 1st no matter what....i'm 99% sure this wasn't the case or his thinking when he got $305

Let's just say the Host is getting very ugly fast. I see he hasn't read this thread. I've asked him to make his argument, and I got "im a scam artist, go fuck myself, I stole $305 dollars from him (even thought I already returned $80)... and my other $100 pool with him ( that is very much active) is dead money to me."

i honestly think defying should first give back the $80 which we all agree he never had any rights to (and already gave back)

now we all agree 2nd place is owed $160....we need $80 more

if the host isn't going to fork it up then i think defying and 1st place should just split the $40 since they were the ones involved in the whole f'd up incident

to say a guy with only 1st place chance (defying) and a guy with 1st and 2nd place chance (actual winner) should get the same odds on a split is laughable to me

I will agree he made a Mistake on the Number......But he's wrong if he now wants the Total money back...He came to you with a Deal... now he wants to take it back.

If Michigan would have won, would he call the deal off still ?? Don't think so

You're getting Free Rolled, it's that simple.

I didn't purpose it. He did. Maybe he isn't a gambler, and just wanted to profit, And I am fine with that, the host right now couldn't be less cooperative. Won't even read this thread, calling me a scam artist, stiff, and thief...

Also, I have a pending $100 pool with him and he said that's now no good.

I really just want him to read this thread so we can talk. I don't want him to get screwed out of anything, but he is not making it easy at all

so he's a Poster ?? must have missed that part.

Would love to hear his side of the story

me too. I've sent him to this thread multiple times, before his 4 rants of how horrible of a person I am....

All I asked was him to read this and give me his thoughts.

This isn't a lot of money.... It's completely ridiculous he can't even have a conversation about it.

just give him the entire $305 to shut him up....

then contact the winner and ask if he is willing to split the winnings with you like agreed upon

(tell him he was entitled to $305 in the split and you will take the $145 extra he got)

Defying - This should make your decision very easy.

I don't have contact with that guy... That sounds like a legit plan otherwise...

IDK what to do.. I think shdw has a great point.. No one should get screwed over a small mistake or understanding... I cannot even get him to read this thread. He is a poster here that I had no problem with. I enjoyed his pools, and appreciated the invite. It shouldn't come out of his pocket... And I don't want it too... But because he is name calling and making threats, I should just give in? Sigh.

To me it's no difference if its $40 coming out of his pocket of $4000, he shouldn't have to pay it out of his pocket because he was nice enough to run the pool, but there seems there is no reasoning with him... I hope that changes...
