mothers day a few years ago the whole family went out to brunch, elderly lady next to us was eating all by herself. she kept smiling at my daughter and reading. we bought her meal but left before she was done. that has been done for me and my family in the past so i like to pay it forward. a simple easy gesture to be nice to people. buy it for them and leave.

just joined "be the match" registry for bone marrow. i donate blood and platelets often but want to see if my bone marrow can be a match for someone and help save a life. last year my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma. we actually found out about her cancer 1 week after we found out my wife was pregnant. my mother went through treatment and is doing wonderful but i am joining a registry to see if my bone marrow can save a life. my mothers cancer was what brought attention to it but if i could be a match for someone else i would love the opportunity to help.

Agree, Gravy.

All degrees of helping your fellowman are good. Sometimes it doesn't take a lot.

I have had people buy my order of coffee or food in a drive thru before. The first time it happened to me the lady told me you are the 12th car in a row where the person in front of you paid for the person behind them.
I was stunned and shocked I did not even think to keep the chain of kindness going. Then felt bad later for breaking it.

How does this work? what if the person behind you is planning a big order? never understood this.

Chill out dude, different strokes for different folks, nothing personal about it. I do believe that most average people probably carry less than $200 in cash. Most purchases under $10 should be done with cash and women should not digging around in their purse for 2 minutes to find the 43 cents the transaction ends in .

If you don't feel comfortable with less than a dime in cash, then so be it . I don't need that much in less for some specific purpose.

People do some incredibly stupid things. I used to work at USPS like 15-20 years Ago, lots of Vietnam veterans and quite a few Philopinos amoung them .

This one guy named Juan was pretty well off and owned a few rental properties plus his Navy retirement and postal job, kind of the braggart sort, a little guy no more than 5' 5" and 150 lbs and easily 60.

He loved to flaunt his relative wealth. He carried a $1,000 bill in his wallet and loved to flash it . You can't just go to the bank and get one of those. It would have cost around 1500 to get one 20 years ago, same price now .

The point is you never spend it and would have a hard time even trying to . That is not walking around money, just like saying , hey come rob me !

False that transactions under $10 should be done with cash. All those transactions add up so use a rewards credit card

You just ask the cashier how much the order is for the car behind you

I always tell the cashier my friend is right behind me so hopefully they don't just pocket the $$ themselves. It's sad that's even a thought but I'm sure it has probably happened before.

I gave my cousin a joint the other day, he don’t even smoke anymore. Maybe he’ll give it away to someone that does and make there day. A chain of kind events

Hung out with my cousin the other day, he actually smoked the joint. Said it took him 5 days to finish it so I hooked him up with another one . I think he’s gonna try and get it prescribed, he’s bat shit crazy from the army. It’ll prob do him some good

Will buy the meal for service men & women when I get an opportunity. Frequently take care of the meal for elderly veterans(most donning a hat saying Vietnam Vet or the ship they served on), as well as for elderly couples I see out together. Will just pay my bill and leave $20-50 to cover their meal and just walk out. Recently paid the tab for about 20 Vietnam Vets having lunch together at a burger joint....was about $250 tab. It's the least I can do as way to say thanks.

If I were wealthy or won the lottery or something I'd do stuff like that spider94 instead of giving to a charity do it directly and anonymously
I never thought I'd live to see the day when marijuana was legal in many states and just a minor nuisance infraction most everywhere else . It does make sense after thinking about it more.

Our younger senior citizens are like Vietnam veteran age and people that grew up in the 60's aren't going to care about something as trivial as someone smoking some pot
Their parents are now deceased. Every WW2 vet I've ever known is now deceased, you'd have to be like 95+ to be such a vet , even Korean vets are uncommon
