He benefitted from extremely poor competition. Kelso won horse of the year five times.. I don't know one guy at the track who thinks John Henry is top 10.. And I've had this discussion a million times.
HE WON grade 1 on turf and dirt gyno the guys you hang at the track with either never saw him or really dont know racing

My dad's been betting horses since 1948 and told me that John Henry wouldn't be in his top 50. All of his old horse racing buddies have told me the same thing.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Then you don't really know any horsemen or just too young ever to see him race...and you probably need to ask others in this forum....

Gyno, you and your buddy Railbird stick with Travler 1....John Henry has visited more states than you and him combined..Not a personal attack my son, just can't believe that your dad and a thousand other friends could not recognizr star quality in a hall of famer racehorse...

All the great ones knew when being noticed or photographed in a post parade or in the winner's circle...they played to the crowd...

So far everyone has a great list and I've seen the majority of them run in person...

Mack Lobel was the best I have ever seen in harness.

I think if Invasor had a chance to continue racing he would have been top ten of all time.
