I would bet many at rx.com pay more on soft drinks and water each year than they do on gas

$3.50 for a specialty coffee each day and 1.79 for a pepsi at lunch. Not to mention bottled waters all along the way, and 7-11 stops at the Gas Station.

Where do those gas stations make all their money? Notice how they all have convenience stores.

I apologize for the attitude on this. I think many in their personal finances only notice larger 1-time bills. Since they get hit for a one-time $35 gas bill every 3 days, it hurts. But they don't see the $10/day they are leaking in pepsi/water since it comes out of their wallets in singles, not twentys.

Plus, pepsi and gas don't explode. They don't require you going to Saudi Arabia, and Alaska to pump it out of the ground, refine it, and make do everything you need to do to make it functional.

I'm personally outraged at the cost of water and pepsi out there.

Yeah, I knew I'd get flamed for saying Gas, not water. I stink.

Beer is free in Vegas so I'm biased. Put $20 in any Video Poker machine in any Vegas bar, and you get drinks for free.

You just have to pretend to play ( or play a few hands and eat the 25 cent negative expecation since must Video Poker machines in bars are only like 98% ROI).

honolulu,

My currency conversions might be off but isn't 2.5 pesos roughly equal to 25 cents American. Are you sure that gasoline is that cheap in Mexico? Last time I went it was about twice what I paid in Arizona.

Regular is like 1.67 here today...i try not to look to hard at the price anymore...What I don`t understand, about 18 months ago when prices first went skyward, we had truckers from all over driving to D.C. to complain, and this was when prices were around the 1.50 range...here we are now past that point and no one`s saying much!? Its such a racket...

got all you US guys beat here in san diego, we always pay the most. $2.19 for 87 yesterday. btw, best way to beat it is to play the commodities market, get yourslf a good broker who knows his shit when it comes to energy stuff and you can at least be making money off it when the prices are killing you at the punp. btw2, i have to agree with fez here, gas is cheap even at these prices, last year at a padres game i bought a bottle of water which calculated out to $22/gal, with the new park this year, i expect that to be up a to $26, lol.

I got gas "cheap" in the Bay Area yesterday, many are charging over $2.20, I got it at a Shell for $2.09. In Reno, gas is about $2.01 a gallon.

California and Nevada always have the highest outside of Hawaii thanks to the enviros that make us use a formula of gas that no one else uses. Costs more to make and exposes us easily to shortages and deception. Thanks a lot. Stupidest thing is the most expensive gas is always in San Francisco and San Diego, two cities almost always in the top 5 for cleanest air. LA and Sacramento with the worst air around and the cause for this "near" gas are always cheaper. And then like fools Nevada agreed to require this same gas.

in so cal - i live near one of the last expensive places in of the area. the cheapest prices i have seen:

$207.9 - 87
$217.9 - 89
$227.9 - 933

add on as much around $.25 per gallon for the range of prices at other areas - with those areas being in "high income" places such as berely hills, south orange county, etc.

A friend of mine in Puebla, Mexico said very recently he paid 7.1 pesos/liter. That translates to about $2.45/gallon. Despite being a major oil exporter, Mexico imports much of its gasoline so those prices are sure to go up soon.
