No way is Ill. a lock. Big Ten very top-heavy this year -- major gap between top 2. If PSU just beat them they would have been out of tourny, I think they need 1 more and still need to hope. They were beat by any half decent team out of conf., only wins outside conf were against outright creampuffs!
Purdue in same boat but at least has a couple good wins outside conf. Big Ten weak this year for sure

Actually as it turned out, Brock won though he had the worst of it. Given that Illinois was a 12 seed, clearly they wouldn't have made it without beating both Penn St and Indiana and they were a dog alone to beat Indiana so -200 not good.

Yeah, Brock is pretty damn lucky. Even with 2 wins in the Big 10 tournament, they were one of the last 3 in for sure.
