Nobody is suprised, he hit .300 against Washington, thus proving my point again that he destroys the Fish and Nats and blows against everyone else.

Chris, if he gets about 260, it wont matter unless he starts getting some walks. OBP less than .310 is inexcuseable.

Francouer is going to be on Jim Rome today!!
Also a few issues back he was listed in SI I think on some all-worst of baseball players.

How about Francoeur this year? .306 BA... Budworth obviously has no clue about baseball. He should have started a thread about someone who actually sucks.

Are you trying to say that Francour is not an absolute stud?

If thats what you are saying, then you dont have any idea how wrong you are.

I'm back. :howdy:

Francouer finished 10th in the NL in outs this year! Way to go Jeff!

Francoeur isn't in the top 50 NL batters in OPS!

Not in the top 50 for OBP!

47th in SLUGGING!

First in WOW!
FIRST IN OLD SCHOOL!
FIRST IN DIRT ON UNIFORM!
FIRST IN GRITT!

This guy is pure shit. He is lucky Andruw continued to down-slide so much this year, of the spotlight would have been on him!

Imagine next year what will happen when he is called upon to "Carry" the Braves offense. He can carry them back to the dugout as he hustles back to the dugout.

As someone who watched over 90% of the BRAVES games this season. A percentage that I doubt you even came close to this season, He is by far the most clutch player on the entire team. There was not a player on the team I would rather have at the plate than him down a run with 2 out in the 9th. He was the best defensive outfielder on the team this year. Yes, even better than Andrew Jones. The progrees he is making almost on a week to week basis is amazing. You waited a whole year to post this?

The scary thing is he is only going to get better and better.

Clutch hitting is a myth. If he does possess this ability to raise his game to some other level, then why does he only choose to use it in certain situations? If he is as good in those situations as you claim, then his performance in all other situations must be even worse than his overall stat line shows, in order to average out to his horrible line. You are lucky that your team isn't made up of 9 Jeffys, because if it were, they would only score about 4 runs per game, and there wouldn't be anybody on base to drive in, since his on base percentage is horrible.

You really can't judge who was a better outfielder, since Andruw is asked to cover a lot more ground. I'll give you that AJ is losing a step, and that Francouer has a very good arm. His range isn't special though, so you should just drop the hyperbole. Why not write "At least he doesn't totally kill the Braves with his glove. His arm is committed to the same thing as his bat; not letting runs cross the plate"?

He is not making amazing progress. His OPS went up almost 40 points. His XBH's stayed the same. If anything, in his second full season, he massively underperformed expectations.

I waited all year to post that because I was banned.

Clutch hitting is not a myth. Ask AROD if clutch hitting is a myth.

Its a fact, some people perform under pressure better than others. You know that.

It is a myth. If it existed, then Jeter would have been able to actually do something in these playoffs, instead of "choking." He is the best clutch hitter of all time, right?

Come on BUDWORTH.

I will give you credit for knowing your baseball. Despite what you may think, I am glad to see you back and I look forward to having many convos with you in the future. But you are reaching here.

There are so many stats that can be used to prove it.

I use to play in high school. There were certain players on my team where you could see the fear in there eyes when they had an important at bat.

You knew the player had no chance because of the fear.

There were other players that loved the pressure. Clutch hitting is real.

And Jeff Francour is very clutch.

Francoeur sent to the minors, Mississippi, Class AA.

From ESPN:

ATLANTA -- Slumping Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur was sent to the minors to work on his hitting, with his average having dropped to .234.
Francoeur was booed at home Thursday night when he went 0-for-4 in the Braves' 4-1 loss to the Phillies. He hit .206 in June and is 1-for-12 in three games this month.
