I was just about to type this even before I saw your question.

MCPHERSON: RC27= 2.10
SECA= .193
BB/K RATIO= 0.06
OBP= .224 (BEFORE TONIGHT)

McPherson is another who really should still be in the minors, although there are differences between him and Frenchy. Notably, he lacks major endorsements and hero status in the Southeastern United States region.

His sample set in the majors is also a lot smaller, and he has shown better plate discipline in the past (not much though). Very indicative of what is plaguing the Angels organization right now. They just eat outs man, it's sickening really.
Another guy that Sucks Nuts out west is Scutaro from the A's

Scutaro is 30, he was never highly touted, and he doesn't start. I'll agree that he "sucks nuts", but there are lots of guys who "suck nuts" who don't have starting jobs.

The real astounding thing with Francouer is the huge disparity in his numbers between games vs the Nationals and Marlins (teams with young pitchers who are trying to establish fastballs/teams that don't have good scouting departments b/c of budgets), and the rest of the league. The rest of the league doesn't even play around with this joke, they never give him shit to hit.

While we're at it, Laroche and Langerhans suck pretty bad also. There are studs and duds in that lineup and very little in between. They need some average guys to put in place of the 3 fuckups they are playing at their corner of's and 1b. By replacing them, they could score 1 more run per game on avg. Especially Francouer.

wow. didnt this guy produce a lot better last year or was i dreaming?

He did, but teams have adjusted. Only young pitchers on bad teams throw him anything to hit anymore.

He's on pace for 530 outs...ALLTIME RECORD IS 551!!

Making 14% of the Braves outs, from the 6 hole. Nice job Bobby, why don't you choke another playoff game away.

Hey man, you've got all the answers. I suggest you send Bobby a little letter telling him what to do. I mean, it's not like he and the Braves farm system have been developing players that have won the division for 14 consecutive years or anything. He needs you to make his line-ups for him as well :103631605

Yes, this is extremely blatant sarcasm voicing my belief that if Bobby had anything better he would have already done it. It is what it is, this is all he's got right now. If there was a better solution you don't think he would have already done it? Jeff is streaky, he'll have another streak of 10 or so games when he hits .400 but they'll be sandwiched by 3-20's, that's just the type of player he is right now.

Bobby 1 for 14 in playoffs....WSA: 0.070

FRANCOUER BA: .246

Maybe the Braves like low % employees. Italianole, you play the lottery?

Also, those streaks won't be .400 BA, they will be like .320, and they will come against shitty teams that can't afford scouting reports or who are just about developing players. Nice!

I am trying to figure out what Bobby's play-off performance (1 title, 5 ws appearances) has to do with his ability to consistently put winning teams together. He has proven like no other to have the ability to push the right buttons and make the correct moves that will have his teams in the play-offs, which btw is the goal for the majority of the league. If there was a better solution than having Jeff in RF, Langerhans in left, Laroche at first, or Giles batting lead-off he would have made the move. I expect we'll see some things shake-up after the all-star break like always. Unless you believe you have more baseball savvy than Bobby Cox, which I actually do not doubt as you come off as a smug know-it-all (no offense of course, not necessarily a bad thing), then I do not know why you are reprehending him here. WTF do you want him to do at the moment?!

Bobby's been to the playoffs 14 times, and won once.

I don't think I am smarter than him holistically. I do think I'd do a better job on the Francouer Issue, yes.

Here is what you do. Use Matt Diaz. You will get better or similar production than francouer, and you allow Frenchy to back to high single A or double A and let him work on figuring out what is a ball versus a strike.

Ramirez really shouldn't ever start another ballgame, as he has proven time and again not be an effective out gatherer.

Other than that, high expectations are hurting them.

As long as there are shitty-to-mediocre pitchers in the too-large MLB, Francoeur will always have a home.

1-9 yesterday, 2 for his last 13.

Hasn't played FLA or WAS since may 18th, maybe that explains why he's sucking so much.

Just STRUCKOUT AGAIN. Yawn.

Hitting .247, obp of 260, Still the least productive starting RF in the Senior Circuit. Yawn.

Send him back to Single A or Double A? I'm afraid that will not happen anytime in the near future...

Right, because they gave him the key to the city last year based on a lot of luck in a ridiculous sample set. It SHOULD happen though.

You know they won't send him to Single A or Double A......He played in the WBC for USA...I'm guessing that is one of the reasons Bobby Cox is sticking by him so hard...

Honestly, I can see why you are against him so hard now with his OBP so low but he will turn it around, he has a very good ability to make contact. Only problem is he needs to learn how to take a ball.

Chris,
maybe not the day to talk about his contact making abilities. He just K'd again (3 today).

The braves are playing with 23 outs each game, not 27.

Can we start a thread like this for Reitsma?
Between Reitsma, Sosa and Francouer the Braves are going nowhere..
As much as you think Francouer should be sent down, I think Reitsma is even worse.

Francoeur with 2 homers in last 4 games, currently 4-11 in those games (.364) and only halfway through tonight's game...he's streaky and might be in one of those streaks where he will get his average above .260+
