With all that said, I would be just as happy to get AJ Green at 8

I would've liked him more if they didn't trade Watkins. Now their receivers seem like they are gonna be just as bad as last year.

He could have a good year but just seems like a lot going against him.

He had 1/2 his TDs in 3 games vs SF, Cleveland and Jville last year. Him and Gillislee averaged like 5.5 yards a carry, that's going to be tough for him to repeat even if they do have an elite offensive line. Just tough to run over teams on the ground like that when you have such an anemic passing game. Buffalo scored 400 points last year somehow, just seems like people will be getting Shady a year late.

He's not Lamar Miller in the first round or anything but unlikely he comes close to repeating last season. Schedule looks pretty rough as well (Miami being the worst run D on it by far they don't get to play until weeks 15/17)

I usually don't put much into schedule but when you have the 1 extreme to another like the AFC East teams will this year then it is relevant.

Sometimes in drafts it is hard to pass on a guy but I'd probably try to stack WR's in PPR if you don't get 1 of the big 2 and find RBs later, then obviously get handcuffs and be vigilante with the waiver wire.

Pretty good read. At this point in time I think this is mostly the correct strategy for full PPR leagues as long unless you get an outlier like DJ/Bell.

Normally I would agree with this strategy.

This year seems to be a crazy lack of RB depth. In most of my mocks and draft champion leagues if I don't snag one in the first 3 rounds my two starting running backs are pitiful.

I would be fine going WR WR getting two studs. Then a guy like dalvin cook in the 3rd, another WR in 4th and a ppr machine like Woodhead in the 5th.

Every draft pick is its own decision but most of these RB's are so volatile week to week now. More injuries/timeshares than ever.Someone like McFadden or Quiz Rodgers can start the first 3-5 games of the year while other RB's are coming avail to you (similar to DeAngelo Williams/Spencer Ware last yr, although obviously with not as good of results)Your team should be stacked besides RB if you do this. So it isn't like you need to find the next David Johnson. I think it's a no brainer strategy for PPR nowadays, non-PPR it is a little closer.

That's another reason I thought 8 was a prime spot in round 1 with 3RR. Because chances are you end up with Evans or Green. Arguably just as valuable as odel/julio/mccoy but you let the guys ahead of you reach while you take value with whoever is left and have a better pick on the flip.

After 8 you start to have a really tough decision on your hands unless someone made a screwball pick earlier. You go for gordon at 9? Jordy? Freeman who isn't even a bellcow, michael thomas with one year track record?

JC, Curious exactly where Fournette, McCaffrey, and D Cook went in your draft. Is it PPR?

On the two ive done so far....

Mccaffery and Fournette early to mid 2nd in both

Cook went late 3rd in one and late 2nd in the other

From what I'm seeing cook settling into mid third round.

If you want Mccaffery will have to pay a premium. Early second is a high pick on a rookie who doesn't start

I'm a fan of Mccaffery but Carolina is as bad of a fit as there is for him. There offense is built around guys who are the opposite of him which is more to the strengths of the qb. Cam's never had a quick athlete, that I can recall, to throw to and tends to struggle with those quick short routes. Not to mention there's at least 3 better red zone options that him on the roster.

Drafting tomorrow. Is Zeke in the 2nd too big of a reach at this point? I play with a lot of bad people and pretty confident I can still the playoffs.
Hoping for a top 2 pick and going Johnson or Bell/wr 1/Zeke. If drafting in the middle maybe wr1/rb1/Zeke.

Did my first big draft and def disappointed. half of the disappointment is directed towards myself for breaking with my strategy and taking Zeke in the second round. I should have gone with Doug Baldwin as I planned followed by Dalvin cook in the third. Was surprised to see Zeke fall to midway through the second as he has been going right after the turn, and made a quick and poor decision in the 60 seconds allotted. No doubt my team would have been stronger had I followed my original plan. I will need a lot of things to go my way as well as avoid injuries to survive until week 8. The other half of my dissapointment is that I didn't get Mcfadden. Had I gotten him, I think i would have been just fine. Was planning on taking him in the 8th but some idiot took him with the first pick of the 7th round. Fucked me good. My flex is now super weak and i'm an injury away from really being in trouble.

I picked 8th. PPR 12 teams, My lineup will be...

Winston
Danny Woodhead
Bilal Powell
Odel Beckham
Davante Adams
Alshon Jeffery
Tyler Eifert
Mason Crosby
Arizona Defense
Mike Wallace (flex)

1st pick overall. Standard scoring.

QB - Luck, Rivers
RB - D Johnson, Hunt, Lacy, Perrine
WR - Cooper, Dez, D Thomas, A Robinson, Landry, Coleman
TE - Eifert
Def - Carolina
K - na

Always favor rb's but just no value in the draft. Zeke went 2.02. Was targeting Montgomery or Mixon at the end or rd 4. Both were gone 1 pick before I was back up.

That's a beast team. You will compete for the title.

You have two stud running backs. Hunt will be better in ppr but still great.

Solid receivers across the board.

I like rivers to have a huge year. He has more weapons than ever. Luck will be a dud. Wouldn't be surprised to see him not play a snap all year.

High on eifert as well. A top 3 tight end going in round 7-9

Be happy that someone else reached for Zeke. Had they done that in my draft i would be sitting pretty. My only hope is a suspension reduction to 4 games, which seems very unlikely.

Starting to get a bit of false hope in this. Sources saying Zeke will lose the appeal but will then take to court like Brady. Could potentially delay everything until next year and he would play this season. this is a LONG SHOT, but if it went through I would essentially have two top 5 picks on my team with Beckham and Elliot

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk believes there is a "very good chance" Ezekiel Elliott plays Week 1.
Elliott's appeal will be heard on Tuesday morning with a decision likely to come in the next week. If the decision does not go his way, Florio believes Elliott will take the case to court, seeking an injunction which allows him to play while the legal situation shakes out. Of course, doing so would make it possible he misses late-season and even potentially playoff games instead of the first six. Even with the appeal today, this saga is far from over.
