6/3 Friday

Heading to the track to grab a beer and throw $200.00 on the #1 horse in the 8th at Churchill. In her last two races she ran behind Secret Oath and Nest, arguably the two best fillies in the country. She registered an 84 Beyer in the Kentucky Oaks despite finishing 8th by 6 3/4 lengths in that tough field.

The only qualifier is that I get at least 4/5, which I think I should in a 12 horse field.

Damn. Another loser. Sorry folks. Gonna get this right.

-200.00 -200.00 = -400.00 for thread

I'm cold as ice today, but this is/was my personal pick of the day so leaving it here as proof of my inadequacies as a handicapper.

BEL R10
#10 Cadencia (6-1) - still a maiden after finishing 2nd in 6 of 10 starts for the Pletcher barn. Gets claimed on April 15th and has had a published work every week since. Adds blinkers for the first time today in the new barn - could easily be the difference for a filly with talent. She should be 3-1, not 6-1. Regardless, I can't see a scenario where she finishes out of the money. Well, she COULD get hit by lightning in the starting gate...you like the odds on lightning?

Nice one, Mel, just saw this; he was my alternate pick on HT; lately my alternate picks come in more often than my actual pick

Congratulations, Niko, on a great "exceptional bet" score. You got this thread in the red. That's where I hope we keep it. I need to help.

She led all the as expected, but could hold on, lost by a neck at 3-1…. the winner also just broke her maiden…
Total wagered $150.00
Total returned $0.00

Gonna try this again; BEL Race 1

BEL Race 1: 2- No Code

Several angles that fits for me:
1. MSW dropping to Maiden Claiming
2. Pletcher has excellent numbers on all stats
3. Debut went off less than double digits
4. Strong breeding for dirt
5. ML favorite, but it’s being overlooked due to runners with big name jock (bug is on the 2) and forms seems iffy
6. 2nd place finisher came back to win next out
7. Beyer is competitive in this group.

So with many angles that seems to fit, gonna take a shot; I think he has an exceptional value.

6/5 - LRL R5
#4 Candy Corner (9-2) - I think this is her day. Has run at this level four other times and has 3 second place finishes to show for it. When starting off the bench in April she finished 4th behind Island Philo (who just scored a nice win in the 1st race today) to flatter that run. She came back to blow her start in the mud and finish 9th. The 1st and 2nd place finishers in that one have already won again. Back on a fast track today and the off track debacle should help our odds.

$20 Win
$4 ex 4/7,8,9
$6 ex 7,8,9/4
