This is something that I take very seriously and on many occasions I get turned off to the point I can't order certain foods out.
If I go into a decent restaurant with a carryout and I see the person making my food , bare hands and all, I watch them like a hawk...looking for the slightest mishandling of my order.
There have been a few occasions I was completely turned off by the time my food arrived and I couldn't even eat it.
One time I go into a resaurant, one of my favorite places to get a carryout order, the guy at the counter was sweating up storm, tiny sweat beads formed all over his nose, as if he was in a sauna....he takes my order , takes my cash, gives me change, turns around and starts making my food!
He never bothered to wash his hands, at some point during the preparation he goes to his sweaty face and back to my bread!
I was starving , I couldn't eat it, I aslo couldn't make a scene ...I did end up calling and reporting the incident and got a refund.
The problem is most of these places have somehwat unsanitary conditions in the best of circumstances, they do not wash their hands enough and should wear gloves... I really don't eat out as much because of it.
It happened again last night, I don't have a problem if I can't see the actual preparer...anyone else have similar experiences, feel the same or opposite?
