How do we know that he hasn't committed other crimes?

By FACT. He has no arrest record. Look it up on Wikipedia. How the hell would he get through a Top Secret clearance, possibly with a polygraph and have a criminal record?

FACT:

Ivins, however, had no criminal record, whereas Duley herself has a history of convictions for driving under the influence, in addition to drug-related criminal charges and charges of battery by her ex-husband.[26]

It obviously shows you don't read my posts JP. So stop bullshitting in this thread. If you want to debate, read from post #1, then ask questions. None of us like repeating ourselves 5,000 times.

Security Clearances

Source: Wikipedia

Security clearance descriptors often appear in employment advertisements, as employers generally prefer to hire people who are already cleared to access classified information at the level needed for a particular job or contract.
Due to the nature of security classifications and clearances, often people incorrectly identify their clearances by a combination of actual clearance level, additional access controls, caveats, and the organization who granted them clearance. In addition, different organizations within the Federal government use different terminology and lettering, as is discussed below. In general, most employers look for candidates that hold an active DoD collateral clearance or a blanket TS/SCI-cleared individual that has successfully completed a counterintelligence (CI) or full-scope polygraph (FSP).
Some items on are based on a list compiled by a nonauthoritative source on the Internet. Items marked "*" are defined in the 2006 U.S. Government's National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) p. 14 ff [1] Any combination of the SI, SI-ECI-*, B, G, HCS letters can be used.
U.S. Classified Information is classified at 3 levels. For access to this information, the sponsoring government organization grants collateral clearances at the following levels:
  • C - Confidential *
  • S - Secret *
  • TS - Top Secret (DoE has the Q clearance which is equivalent) *
In addition to collateral access, the government also supports access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI) and special access programs (SAPs) in which access is determined by need-to-know. These accesses may also require increased investigative requirements before access is granted.
Some categories of information, while possibly but not necessarily needing special access control, by their nature may require extra security education, special handling procedures, et cetera. These are known as caveats:
  • FOUO - For Official Use Only *
  • COMSEC - Communications Security *
  • CNWDI - Critical Nuclear Weapon Design Information
  • NOFORN - Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (access restricted to U.S. citizens) *
  • WNINTEL - Warning Notice - Intelligence Sources and Methods Involved [2]
  • CRYPTO - Cryptographic *
Prior to being granted any clearances or accesses, A person is investigated by the Government. Depending on the level of clearance and access the person needs, the Government undertakes one of the following investigations:
Certain accesses require one to undertake one or more polygraphs:
An incomplete list of the more popular and possible sets of security clearances is below:
  • Confidential
  • Secret (Collateral)
  • Top Secret (Collateral)
  • DOE - C, L, Q
  • FBI (equivalent to TS Collateral)
  • NATO Secret
  • Position of Public Trust
  • Yankee White
  • Top Secret/SCI
SCI clearances assume that the subject has been approved for at least Top Secret collateral information. As a baseline, most individuals that have access to SCI are briefed Special Intelligence (SI, also known as COMINT) and Talent-Keyhole (TK). Additional common compartments:
  • Gamma (G), subcompartment of SI
  • HUMINT Control System (HCS), protects human intelligence
In general, employees do not publish the individual compartments that they are cleared. While this information is not classified, specific compartment listings may reveal sensitive information when correlated with an individual's resume. Therefore, it is sufficient to declare that a candidate possesses a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Amazing huh? Some good investigative work.

Here is the deal The Director fo the CIA is General Michael Hayden, he was former director at The NSA. So he has contacts within the NSA to wiretap and use SIGINT tools on the FBI's communications (Thanks to the Patriot Act and Verizon/ATT) therefore the CIA knew all along when the FBI was going to move in to arrest on "Suspicion" which was information fed to the FBI through the CIA. Anyways, to top that off George HW Bush was a former direcor at the CIA as well so he had inside knowledge of this as well I would imagine. It is a good ol boys club, "blood in blood out". Once you are in the CIA, you are in for life.

Tiz, all very valid comments. I will respond to them ,but I don't want to branch off into the discredited "therapist". It is common knowledge the CIA works with crooks. Manuel Noriega is a case in point.

I digress, Duly is not a reliable source, in fact she is a paid "actress" in my opinion (see that guys, it is not a fact so I said it was an OPINION). The entire case on him being a "psycho" or "stalker" or "violent" is to steer direction away from the inconsistencies in the case and demonise him as a character. Demonizing is terrorism 101, if you can hate your enemy so profoundly you can eventually murder or be happy they are dead no matter how grotesque the death is.

So basically, the CIA is doing damage control right now and doing three things.

1. Feeding internet news, blogs and other communications areas with bullshit and distractions (Even forums like this will have guys doing damage control I would imagine)
2. Demonizing Dr. Bruce Ivins character via "cookies" to news agencies, the latest one is "he stalks sorority girls".
3. Altering news reports with "updates" slowly to keep the public thinking they are receiving more new "facts" about Dr. Bruce Ivins e.g "New DNA evidence links Dr. Ivins to the anthrax letters".

These are all CIA distraction methods. If Americans continue to sit around and let the government run wild, we will be looking back shameful in the near future. Time for a change my friends.

Already mentioned him having a clearance. The clearance in itself speaks wonders. Only a select few percentage of US citizens would ever have what he had as far as a clearance. Do you have that clearance? Does anyone else in hear have that clearance? Okay then, presicely my point. Don't need facts to prove that if I can do it through sampling.

also to throw another potential wrinkle into things maybe you can find a connection between hutchins and the ivin's case if there was one.....

Aide to U.S. Senator Jim Webb found dead from apparent gunshot wound

By Dan Casey

Fred Hutchins, a Botetourt County native who quickly rose through Virginia's political hierarchy to become a staff aide to U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, was found dead near Fincastle on Tuesday morning of a single gunshot wound to the head.

He was 26.

Hutchins' body was found by a Botetourt County deputy just after 7 a.m. outside a vehicle parked on the shoulder of southbound U.S. 220, according to the sheriff's office. A handgun was found beneath the body. The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner's office in Roanoke.

Tiz,

If I could link all this shit together in a political forum. I would be a millionaire. You and the whole country would by a copy of my book. The fact is I have mor the time nor the patience to do such a thing.

I have spent the last four years of my free time reading as many articles as I could on Wikipedia and seeing how corporations and people are linked. Example Bush Administration Members --> Bechtel (Board Members) --> Alterra Partners --> Costa Rica Airport (Juan Santa MAria International). Withing 4 hops, someone in The Bush Administration could make a call to Alterra Partners who manages the airport in Costa Rica and see who has had there passport stamped or scanned there and who has not, without any knowledge of The Costa Rican Government. This shit is bigger than you can think and frankly, I sometimes worried if I let the cat out too much if I will die. I guess you will know if Michael Scott got "green lighted" when you don't see me post for a month.

I am sure it could be something. Maybe a distraction to get "kooky conspiracy theorists" to chase that lead and stay off The topic that Dr. Bruce Ivins was murdered by the CIA. Just watch the news carefully, you will see suttle developments that will distract you from Dr. Ivins and The CIA being the perp mailing these anthrax letters. Once the Olympic Summer Games start, America will be back to complacency and distracted by that.

My agenda is this. The Truth. 6 innocent Americans, my fellow countrymen died because of this. I counted Dr. Bruce Ivins because I have neither seen, nor heard any evidence he actually is the guy who commited these terrible crimes.

Today's broadcast of Democracy Now devoted about 21 minutes to this story, including interviews with a colleague and a reporter whose followed the anthrax case from the beginning.

The video of the broadcast is on their site and will be on the main page until the next show tommorow. After that I think it gets archived somewhere on the site. The story can be seen from about the 12:00 minute mark until about the 35:00 minute mark. Once it loads (pretty quick), anyone can jump to the 12 minute mark.

Anthrax Evidence Called Mostly Circumstantial

By SCOTT SHANE
Published: August 4, 2008
<!--NYT_INLINE_IMAGE_POSITION1 --> <nyt_text> </nyt_text>The evidence amassed by F.B.I. investigators against Dr. Bruce E. Ivins, the Army scientist who killed himself last week after learning that he was likely to be charged in the anthrax letter attacks of 2001, was largely circumstantial, and a grand jury in Washington was planning to hear several more weeks of testimony before issuing an indictment, a person who has been briefed on the investigation said on Sunday.

While genetic analysis had linked the anthrax letters to a supply of the deadly bacterium in Dr. Ivins’s laboratory at Fort Detrick, Md., at least 10 people had access to the flask containing that anthrax, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly.

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation also have no evidence proving that Dr. Ivins visited New Jersey on the dates in September and October 2001 when investigators believe the letters were sent from a Princeton mailbox, the source said.

The source acknowledged that there might be some elements of the evidence of which he was unaware. And while he characterized what he did know about as “damning,” he said that instead of irrefutable proof, investigators had an array of indirect evidence that they argue strongly implicates Dr. Ivins in the attacks, which killed 5 people and sickened 17 others.

That evidence includes tracing the prestamped envelopes used in the attacks to stock sold in three Maryland post offices, including one in Frederick, frequented by Dr. Ivins, who had long rented a post office box there under an assumed name, the source said. The evidence also includes records of the scientist’s extensive after-hours use of his lab at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases around the time the letters were mailed, the source said.

In an indication that investigators were still trying to strengthen their case, F.B.I. agents took two public computers from the downtown public library in Frederick last week, The Frederick News-Post reported.

One law enforcement official said on Sunday that evidence against Dr. Ivins might be made public as early as Wednesday, if the bureau could persuade a federal judge to unseal the evidence and if agents could brief survivors of the anthrax attacks and family members of those who died.

Paul F. Kemp, a lawyer for Dr. Ivins who maintains his client’s innocence, declined to comment for the record on Sunday on the alleged evidence.
The stakes for the beleaguered F.B.I. and its troubled investigation, now in its seventh year, could hardly be higher.

The bureau, having recently paid off one wrongly singled-out researcher, Dr. Steven J. Hatfill, now stands accused by Dr. Ivins’s lawyer and some of his colleagues of hounding an innocent man to suicide. Only by making public a powerful case that Dr. Ivins was behind the letters can the F.B.I. begin to redeem itself, members of Congress say and some bureau officials admit privately.

Tom Daschle of South Dakota, the former Democratic leader of the Senate and one target of the deadly letters, said on Sunday that he had long had grave doubts about the investigation.

“From the very beginning, I’ve had real concerns about the quality of the investigation,” Mr. Daschle said on Fox News Sunday.

“Given the fact that they already paid somebody else $5 million for the mistakes they must have made gives you some indication of the overall caliber and quality of the investigation,” Mr. Daschle added. He was referring to the government’s settlement in June with Dr. Hatfill, which pays him $2.825 million plus $150,000 a year for life to compensate him for what the F.B.I. now acknowledges was a devastating focus for years on the wrong man.

Mr. Daschle said he did not know whether the new focus on Dr. Ivins was “just another false track.” He added, “We don’t know, and they aren’t telling us.”

John Miller, an F.B.I. assistant director, declined on Sunday to address criticism of the investigation, one of the largest and most costly in bureau history.

“As soon as the legal constraints barring disclosure are removed, we will make public as much information as possible,” Mr. Miller said in a statement.

“We will do that at one time, in one place. We will do that after those who were injured and the families of those who died are briefed, which is only appropriate.”

He added, “I don’t believe it will be helpful to respond piecemeal to any judgments made by anyone before they know a fuller set of facts.”

Wow! Some "Damming" evidence there. If you were a spook (Slang for CIA agent) wouldn't you tail (follow) the guy you were trying the pin this on? wouldn't you buy things from the same places he frequented?

This is not that damming even if Dr. Bruce Ivins was tailed. If Bruce Ivins was not tailed, many people by card stock and pre-sorted stamps. I have not heard of any evidence that put receipts or credit card transaction or places where any of the letters were mailed out of.

The CIA mailed out the anthrax letters. Bruce Ivins did not commit suicide. Bruce Ivins was murdered by the CIA.

Why was "betonite" added to one of the letters?
Which is a chemical additive only known to be used in Iraq. How/why would a nerdy army scientist like Dr. Bruce Ivins do this.

Here is a good graphic from wikipedia on the anthrax case.

I see those who who calling me "luney" previously have become silent and avoided posting counter arguments or evidence that I am wrong. I like that.

The question is still debatable "why" The CIA killed him. But the short answer to that is that The CIA needed a "fall guy" in order to cover up their dirty deeds of originally mailing out the anthrax letters themselves. Now that Dr. Bruce Ivins is dead, he can be blamed for it.

Even the families of those who died from the anthrax letters were saying as of last night that they are still not convinced Dr. Bruce Ivins is the guy and that the want more answers. The government responded to that by saying as early as this Wednesday, they should have a "final report" with the evidence linking Dr. Bruce Ivins to the anthrax scare letters case.

"Final Report" on Wednesday by the government basically means this... Let's wait an see what are the most suspicious arguments being made on the internet and come up with a fake story to prove them incorrect.

There was no "breaking news" for nearly one week that links Dr. Bruce Ivins to the crime, whne the internet readers call bullshit, CNN conveniently Sunday night releases the article that "DNA has linked the case to Dr. Ivins". Americans are convinve that if the media says DNA, it is the truth. DNA evidence is nearly perfect for proof, but the news story was a fabricated story by the government to "hush americans". The last thing Americans need is for the people to find of that their own government was mailing anthrax in a time of a terrible economy, high unemplyment rate, etc. The truthful news that the CIA in fact did kill Dr. Ivins would be devasting for Americans to swallow.

Why in the world would the CIA want to mail anthrax--the Bush administration weakly tried to move the FBI that it was an Al Queda attack but never past the first week...I don't get IT, its not like anyone else in the government tried to make the case this was an outside terroist attack--so let me get this straight--the CIA killed someone because they mailed out anthrax--why in the world would the CIA want to do that?

Why in the world would the CIA want to mail anthrax?

they orginially tied to pin it down on islamic terrorists specifically iraq we have "our leaders" including mccain on video saying such things

once they actually sampled the anthrax (not all anthrax is the same) only clear link was to government labs

so its either somebody inside did it on their own doing for whatever reason tried to pin down hasliff for 6 years....than in 1 month they went after this ivin guy....or government carried it out themselves....

the source of the anthrax seems pretty clear from what i read....just a matter of who did it and why

gave government more reason to rush through the patriot act with little or no discussion as well
