2 things you cashed in 350,000 points that were worth AT A MINIMUM $7,000 for $3,500 so you aren't next level, you are dumb. Also the Reserve has a $450 annual fee, for those points at your earning you are barely breaking even and would be better of getting rid of the reserve do the math mr president.
"Next level" then you wonder why people always give you shit.
Reserve also has a $300 annual travel credit so the fee is actually $150.
The 350,000 points are worth about $5,000 if you book through chase/transfer to travel partners. I looked into it. There were plane seat restrictions, room restrictions, date restrictions, hotel restrictions, etc... Yes, you could eek out the extra $1500 if you jump through the hoops but I wanted the freedom and flexibility to travel exactly as I want to. Taking the $3500 instead of $5000 to have 100% freedom and flexibility was well worth it to me.
You're also missing another aspect because I parlayed $3500 in points into more points with another card. I used the cashed out $3500 from chase points to hit the Barclay bonus of 70,000 points ($700) plus the usual 2x points and 5% points back. So the $3500 is actually $4200 plus the 2x points and 5% points back on barclay.
So, I gave up around 500 bucks of my chase points value but gained 100% flexibility in getting the exact dates, rooms, etc that I wanted. I will take that trade.
