I always wondered why the end of season tourney(basically their play-off) top 8 make it---isn't really counted in GOAT debate and just majors.

Federer won this 6 times
Djoker has won this 6 times
Nadal has never won it(amazingly enough)

Should be counted, but more importantly weeks at number 1 DOES trumps all, for the simple fact it's much more difficult to achieve as compared to winning a slam!

Federer however is the undisputed GOAT of choking away break points! Pitiful to watch the 09 AO where Nadal's second service was like a WTA serve, 80 mph and like 90% went to his backhand, and he just didn't adjust and choked it away. His mindset was there for all to see, when he criticized Joker for going for "such a hopeful swing lucky shot" down two match points at the 11 open!! Instead of criticizing Joker, he should have learned from him and take some chances on the copious amount of break points he had!! He was the Graf of men's tennis without the mindset!

Losing Wimbledon in '19 to Novak was the worst.

Loses in 5...in which the 3 sets he loses where all in tie breaks and had 40-15 on his serve in the 5th to end it and couldn't...

Edit: Roger wins that and we could still debate him as the GOAT over Nole...but that ended it for the most part. Roger would never see another major final.

No. I think he missed 2020 and then got killed by Hurtaz(misspelling) in 3 sets in which he lost 3rd set 6-0.

I believe this was his final match ever.(outside that exhibition match in doubles with Nadal)
