DJax's 2009 MLB Picks - Season Thread

OK guys, I'm gonna roll with all my same teams...still see no reason to change any of them yet although I sense that some of them may be nearing the time when I will jump off the bandwagon. But for now, I dont have any concerns.

Once again, I feel reasonably confident in tomorrow's games so I think we can grab a couple more units hopefully. Due to the request of PokerNinja, I'm going to try to get as much info about my picks out before I go to bed at night. This is probably the best run I've had and I'm real excited that I found a method thats working so well for me...and I'm flattered that people are interested in following me and I promise to do my best to reward that trust. The best way to do so I think is to just stay consistent with what Ive been doing!

These are official picks so far for Wednesday (All 1 Unit):

That's it for official plays thus far. However, from now on I'll post a second category which will be teams that: a) Play before 8pm EST, b) I WILL ABSOLUTELY be wagering on but personally happen to be waiting for expected line improvements.
This way, people who don't have an opportunity to see the picks tomorrow morning/afternoon will have as much possible information about the picks ASAP. I'll post these ones towards the bottom of the page and always include a few sentences like this to briefly explain that they aren't my official odds but otherwise will be the same as my picks (barring some extremely rare situation).

For Wednesday these teams are: Royals ML, White Sox ML

(Example: tomorrow I should be on Reds and Mariners again, but wont bother posting those types of late ones til the afternoon in most cases)

Thanks PatsFan, I'm truly flattered that people are riding with me right now...hopefully it keeps up for all of us. Remember though, stay consistent with your units though because you dont want one bad night (which inevitably has to happen a few times over the course of such a long season) to ruin half or more of your hard-earned profits.

I have a few things I need to do so I'll be back to officially post all my plays in a little while...bu I recommend taking White Sox+Royals both on ML now. Not too much sense in waiting longer at this point IMO.

Also, this method I've been using is based on trying to predict when teams will rise and fall, sort of like trying to play the stock market I imagine, so I'll always have to keep my eyes open for new "stocks" and be ready to drop some of the current ones. I'll probably start a thread sometime in the next week designed to get ideas from all you guys...hopefully a team effort will aid me in making the right decisions on my next set of follow/fade teams so we can enjoy this level of success (or close to it) for an extended period. Start looking into it and keep an eye out for that thread when it becomes time! Thanks guys, GL tonight

ya some nights I might get them all in late at night for the next day...it's tough, just depends on what I have going on. One thing I can definitely do is if I'm just waiting for a better line on a certain game, I'll try to post the team at least and add in my odds later.

Would that be better for you? I'll always be betting the team at some point in those cases, so I promise I wont be leaving you out to dry lol its just the matter of me probably getting slightly better odds than you would

I feel ya, nobody...been there before myself. I'll do my best to help out...I would say just dont get greedy and try to get it all at once. I speak from experience on that one. I think if we stick to these picks, stay disciplined, and make the right adjustements when necessary then we should be able to get you back pretty quickly. <><> GL man

WOW! My statement was way off when I said you could probably go ahead and grab White Sox about an hour ago because its probably not worth waiting...jumped from +135 to +150 in some places! I'm going to grab it now, before it drops again. I think +150 is plenty of value for me in this spot. Pitching matchup probably not an advantage for them but they're mashing the ball lately and (worst case) I think they can make it a slugfest.

Will be on Reds and Mariners later (99% sure) but will be waiting at least a little longer to see what kind of line movement we can get. If you want to grab them now, it probably wont make too much of a difference, though. Hopefully I dont eat my words on that statement again

Thanks for the support indiana...I'm just pumped that I've been able to hit this hot streak and glad I was able to help a few people make money the last few days. I'll do my best to keep it going, especially now that a lot of people seem to be buying into it :lol:

**btw guys, Seattle line seems to be going up a bit. It might be a decent idea to grab them now if possible at +117 I'm seeing it. I'm personally waiting a bit longer to see where it goes, but if you wanna play it a little safer, lock it now.

Very nice to see that. Nice to see the offense show up too, about friggan time@)...I almost took Sox RL and the Rockies ML today for good value, but I wanted to stay disciplined as long as the method is still working.

But as far as the actual bets go, I always knew that some rough days would come up here and there because I'm basically fading/following certain teams...theyre not all going 162-0 or 0-162. But at the same time, its never fun when one actually happens. Just gotta keep thinking that its a long-term type of method, which has worked so far. Hopefully other people who hopped on today will realize that and stick it out, too. Only 1 losing day out of 9 so far this season (only -0.52 units) and if the Cardinals dont choke what was a big lead, then we're still in decent shape to avoid a second one

OK, finally got one of 'em today. Now at 1-2, -1 Unit so far today. Three left tonight and 2-1 means we make some money on the day, so gotta keep our heads up and hope for a solid finish! :toast:
