Kobe Bryant or Larry Bird for greatest small forward in history is the real question. I'll go with Bird for now, but he slowed down so much after 31, while Bryant is still easily one of the 10 best players in the world

FWIW, "D" now totally laughs at 80s/early 90s D but thats immaterial to the overall debate. You would still have to go Bird based on the all around game. Dirk is great but if he isn't scoring he isn't really helping you in many other ways (although he has become a way better passer last few years)

not to mention birds 3 year stretch from 84-86, maybe the greatest 3 consecutive years in nba history. 3 straight mvps and 2 titles when the league was LOADED.

check the tapes folks, dirk isn't in the same stratosphere as bird.

agree there, crooked ass NBA , Birds acquisition was shady from the start. this was a stacked team way before the heat. but the celts/lakers series got me hooked on basketball and im still a celts fan
