Maybe if Mike started biting body parts off of Ali first... not even like Holyfield was an all-time great either...

Did you even bother watching the video?

Sugar Ray Leonard once said about Mike Tyson, "He was so destructive, he should be locked up."

FZ - Do me a favor please. Watch the first video of Mike Tyson and then watch the 2nd video of Mohammed Ali.

Then come back and tell me what you saw.

Mike Tyson was a knockout artist. He would knock Ali out 10 out of 10 times.

Agree 100%

No boxer alive, including Ali, could stand toe to toe in the ring with Tyson BEFORE HIS MYSTERIOUS DOWNFALL.

People forget how good he was during that period...

FZ - I'm still waiting for you to respond after watching the 2 videos. Do you still want to tell me how people would laugh in my face? Here's what I think. I think you have never had an originally thought in your head in your entire life. I think you are the copy and paste king of forum land because you have to back up your regurgitated ideas and thoughts from some other horses mouth. Anyone with half a brain and some "Common Sense" can watch those two videos and see a HUGE difference. Want to know what I see? I see a great technical fighter in Mohammed Ali and a KILLER in Mike Tyson. If you get time go look at Tysons W/L record (50-6 btw with 44 by KO) and look how many times he knocked out his opponenet in the 1st round. I believe it's around 22 KO in the first round of the 36 KO's. Fghters were literally scared to death of Mike Tyson and often lost before they ever stepped in the ring. Mike Tyson was one of the most intimidating fighters ever. The dude was an animal.

Bourn,

Wow. Amazing. Who would have thought it was so simple? Your opinion is original, mine is not. Awesome, end discussion. Brilliant.

I'll just sit here in my office and look at my patent and invention awards, because apparently I've never had an "originally thought" in my entire life. Thanks for the brilliance Bourn.

On top of that, you are original and brilliant, because you disagree with every single boxing expert out there. So cool.

Now, joking aside. I'll admit, I'm not a boxing expert, not even close (but I did watch most of each fighter's fights), so it would be prudent to look at what every fucking boxing expert has to say on the matter, no?

Yes, Tyson was a beast in his prime, but for some reason, boxing experts don't even put Tyson in the same league as Ali - it's not even up for discussion, not even close.

You say Tyson would knockout Ali in 10 out of 10 fights --> bullshit. You don't think that arguably the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time would make adjustments along the way?
They're not going to fight 10 fights in one week, or even in one year.

Ali was so much smarter than the borderline-retarded Tyson, that he would make adjustments, and would no way get knocked out 10 times, the idea is ridiculous.

The best adjustment that Ali could make would be not to enter the ring.

Im sure Ali was the more technical fighter without a doubt, but that wasn't my original statement that started all of this. My original statement was Ali would not last 3 rounds fighting Tyson in his prime. Tyson would knock him out. He was a pit bull. I don't see Ali being on the receiving end of those punches you see and just shaking it off because he's a more technical fighter. That doesn't even make sense. Think about it.

I could be wrong on that one, also. Hell I was 12 years old. I just know the '85 Bears has always been regarded as the bsst NFL teams ever when I see rankings. Due to the size of the athletes now and the speed I don't know.

This is thread is about Bird vs Dirk though. Dirks one foot fade away has been called unstoppable. I've seen it over and over.
And I saw Larry's over and over, and it was unstoppable too.

We are talking about overall player here. The most assists Dirk has ever had in a season is 266. Larry had 520 or more five times.
Dirk has only eclipsed 100 steals once in his 17 year career. Bird did it every year in his career except for the two years he barely even played, due to a back injury that most people wouldn't even have tried to play through.

Dirk is a great player and a star, no doubt. But saying that he is as good as, or better than Larry Bird is just absurd. I don't care how much players have evolved in the last 30 years.

If Bird had played most of his career with the Cavs like LeBron, nobody would even be calling him Top 20 all-time.
One of the dumber things I've ever seen posted here....

Do you have any idea how bad the Celtics team was before Bird came to town? Bird made players around him stars. Do you really think Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish or Danny Ainge would have have excelled the way they did without Bird?

Dirk Nowitzki made history Thursday when he stepped onto the court against the Suns for his 21st season as a Maverick, setting the record for most seasons with a single team.

Congrats to Dirk. One of the most liked basketball players in the NBA. Just a cool guy. A class act.

Ali's reach advantage alone over Tyson would keep him in the match and combine that with his talent and he isn't getting knocked out 10 out of 10 times. Having said that, Tyson was a savage animal. Skill and game plan and all that goes out the window against a bulldog like Tyson. Only so long before he gets in there and mauls you and it's over.

Would be an epic match up but years and years apart unfortunately. Noway anybody on this site, nor the so called experts can predict the outcome. These so called experts sit around and talk sports on tv or write sports and analyze and make predictions and then act mystified and blown away just like the average joe when they are wrong.

Nobody can say for sure. Only guesses. Some a little more educated than others but still guesses.
