The Scarlet Knight defense has been stellar through three games, in large part due to the secondary. It had been opportunistic, with no one showing out more than freshman cornerback Max Melton, who has two interceptions in three games, with one being a pick six. Melton is rated as the third-best defensive player through Week 3 for the Rutgers team.

Re'Mahn Davis said on Instagram that he suffered a season-ending injury against Stanford that will require surgery.
The injury is a huge blow to the Commodores, who have relied on Davis as their bellcow. He had 44 rushes for 211 yards over three games, including 12 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinal.
There are four other players listed as running backs on the roster. Rocko Griffin and Patrick Smith have split backup duties in the first few games. Dylan Betts-Pauley and James Ziglor, who moved to the position from defensive back, have not seen time at the position.
