Thompson recovers, the Wildcats now likely turn to Will Howard to play quarterback moving forward. Howard replaced Thompson in 2020 after the injury took place. Howard also came into the game against Southern Illinois after Thompson went down, but left a lot to be desired in his performance. Howard was 8-of-17 for 76 yards and threw an interception in the game, while also fumbling the ball once.

NC State star linebacker Payton Wilson and senior safety Cyrus Fagan will miss the remainder of the 2021 season after sustaining injuries at Mississippi State.
Fagan made an immediate impact in game one of the 2021 season, with seven total tackles and a pick, and was already proving to be a big part of the secondary both on and off the field.

I have seen nothing on Indy QB Penix being banged up. RB Carr at Indy is banged up. Penix has not come back good this year after acl rehab. 46% completion rate, more int's than td's so far.
