why isnt lebron on this list. even if he doesnt win a title he'll be in the hall of fame

nowitzki maybe. nash no

Since the Basketball HOF is pro AND college (joke i know), Nash was awesome in college (2 Big West POY), and led Santa Clara to 2 upsets in the NCAA, including one as a 15-seed.

Dwight Howard will certainly make it

This is what he's ALREADY done at the age of only 25....

Howard has amassed several NBA and franchise records and awards during his young NBA career.
He has led the league in rebounds per game three times, blocks per game twice, and double-doubles twice. He is also the youngest player in NBA history to reach 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 and 6,000 career rebounds, and the youngest player in NBA history to lead the league in rebounding and blocks. Following Howard's 2009–10 season, he became the first ever NBA player to lead the league in total rebounds for five consecutive seasons. He surpassed Wilt Chamberlain's record of four from 1959–60—1962–63, and again from 1965–66—1968–69.

He became the youngest player in NBA history to average a double double in the regular season.
He also became the youngest player in NBA history to average at least 10.0 rebounds in a season and youngest NBA player ever to record at least 20 rebounds in a game.

He became the first player in NBA History to lead the league in rebounding and blocks in consecutive seasons, and was also the first player in history to ever lead the league in rebounding, blocks, and field goal percentage in the same season.

So, if he retires tomorrow he's in? Don't think so.

Are you joking? Dirk is in top 25 scores in the History of the NBA, he is also in the top 25 in Scoring average in the history of the NBA. League MVP. Multiple time All NBA. Greatest European player of all-time.

No wonder you think the NBA is such a great league, you don't know shit about basketball.

The discussion is as of right now who's in. I don't think these guys get in if they both die tomorrow.

They are both locks for the HOF. They are in the top 10 all time PPG averages. LeBron has won 2 MVPs, 2 All-Star MVPs. 6 Time NBA 1st or 2nd Team. NBA Scoring Champion.

Arguably the greatest high schooler ever to come out and as Fishead said, it is basketball HOF, not NBA HOF.

Here is a list of guys that are locks for the HOF:

Paul Pierce
Ray Allen
Kevin Garnett
LeBron James
D Wade
Dirk
Tim Duncan
Manu
Kobe
Pau Gasol - Yes, don't forget what he has done for Spain in International Competetion.
Steve Nash- 7 Time All NBA 1st/2nd/3rd team member

You think Drazen got in because of his NBA work, not it includes all Bball work.

Add Shaq to that.

I'd also say Vince Carter is likely
Stodamire will get in as well.

No, L James is not a lock right now for the NBA HOF...he just isn't. To be a HOF player you need longevity and it helps to have a ring. Lebron needs to perform at this level a few more years.

Two All Star MVPs - Means jack shit
Greatest High School Player Ever - Uh no, Kobe is but even then it means jack shit
NBA Scoring Champion - One time? Means jack shit.
Two MVP's - Now we're getting somewher

Longevity.

When you say Ginobili is a sure-fire NBA HOF and Vice Carter is likely your credibility goes out the door.

How many years did Gale Sayers play in the NFL?

LeBron is Lock HOF.

Kobe was not even close to Lebron coming out of HS. Are you for real, that Kobe was better than James out of HS?

I don't think Vince makes it.

Manu makes it not only for 3 rings in SAS, but don't forget about his success with Argentina

Go look at guys that are in the HOF, and there best 7 years do not equate to LeBron's.

Also, find me one person besides you who thought Kobe was rated higher than Lebron coming out when comparing them out of HS.

Remember, the thread is lock HOF right now. Not at the end of the career....right now. Kobe is the greatest NBA player that came directly from HS to the NBA with Lebron and Garnett being second/third. Why do you think Lebron was better in HS? Because ESPN hyped him up beyond belief.

I'm not talking 7 years. I'm talking a career. That's what the thread is based on. If Lebron gets a career-ending injury right now he's not in the HOF IMO.
