hey mj...been following you as much as I can since I joined here. I have a couple quick questions if you don't mind. I've been using a local but thinking of starting baseball with a book. Which book do you use? Also, do the books get tighter and harder too beat toward the end of the baseball season like they seem to in cbb? Thanks in advance, GL!!

I know you're asking mj, but I'll toss my 2 cents out....the books don't really get tougher to beat as the season goes on, I actually like the late season....there are teams that need to win to win to get to the playoffs and have a very high price attached to them....in my experience, they are no more likely to win than a normal May day....outside of that, books move the lines towards teams, but outside of NYY, Bos, NYM and a couple others, you get a pretty good price on most teams....the books never really adjusted for the Rays last season and you got great ML prices on them ALL year

Not sure how many picks...I'm sure it varies season to season...and I still haven't made up my mind if I'm going to run more than one system....but anyway, we can expect at least 100 picks for the season.

They will tend to come in groups...2,3 games in a day...couple days off type of thing...definitely not an every day type of system.

The good thing is that the weekend series...when most people follow...will have a good share of the picks.

MJ will you start having picks from day one? Or will this system have to warm up first?

No warm up...it's a go right away.

I looked back on my stats last year...and things might slow down a little in September...but it still kicked out winning picks.

I don't think it's much of an issue...hell, just get us to September...and then we have the NFL. :103631605

I'm currently using Betjam as my book...I might transfer to Matchbook some time this year...but I'll keep Betjam as well.

I haven't used Betjam for baseball yet...so I can't say for sure...but Betjam has been fine for the NFL and NBA. My only complaint is slow over night lines...otherwise the service ect. rocks.

Thanks guys! I was thinking of breaking my season up in four sections and have the unit size for sections 2 and 3 a little larger than 1 and 4. Maybe I'll just keep it the same all season. GL

Does anyone know of a MLB schedule grid that can be printed out? Like a monthly block style?

I'm curious if we have any experienced Matchbook bettors in the house...how do you like the new commission structure so far?

Anyone?

My book is Bodog so cannot help you on that....later weould like to add one that has overnight lines...Bodog comes out late...was everyone banned? I wrote letter to administrator but no reply...yet today am allowed...guess was not only one.

Following Goaline Bob yesterday on his baseball picks...we went 7-1 for the day...he had 4 picks and 4 leans...last two days he is 14-3. Do not know what methodology he is using but has to do with total runs scored and part of it is fading Astros and backing Angels....interesting....will see how long this streak lasts...hard to understand how spring training can be capped but hoops have been hard to decipher lately....so playing spring bb funny as that may be but 7-1 is a great day.

The new commission structure is probably decent for what you do; I dislike it because I used to do a lot of inter-market scalping there.. Really I think you'll see virtually no difference to last year in terms of market size, possibly a little smaller, but for those betting less than $2.5k on sides or $1k on totals it means little; you'll just pay a bit less commission.

Mistermj, looking back at past years of your various system results, do you notice some seasonality with regard to your winning percentages? Mid-season (late july and parts of august) have historically been my most challenging months to turn a profit for the past 3 years.

I think a lot of favorites get priced out late in the year...but there are still other opportunities.

This system is built to exploit those types of opportunities...we will see.

Selective Run lines will be a big part of that.

What was last years winning percentage?

Last year was spent researching...with all kinds of sub systems and records that do not mean much.. except to me.

I don't mean to be evasive...it's just that this system didn't really exist last year...there is no past record.

It's new...and a combination of many things I have learned.

This has been a 3 year project.

This is why I don't want to hype this thing...I'm optimistic...but I have to prove it just like anyone on this forum.

If you follow me...I don't do anything here unless I have a strong reason to believe it will work.

If it doesn't work...I will shut it down fast.

I have zero tolerance for losing...something works for me right away...or the hell with it.

Having said all that...I think we will be racking up units like a mofo. :103631605

But who knows...it wouldn't be the first plan that failed in the gambling world.

Can't bet on backtests...it's time to go live.
