Steve Alford @ New Mexico, amazing

anthony grant at VCU has to be one of them. Alongside Donavan at Florida for their Championship runs. Has led VCU to league championships, NCAA tournament (almost beating Duke)....he is a hell of a good guy and a great coach.

He will be at VCU for 1-2 more years, then some big D1 school will pick him up.

For such a young guy, Brad Stevens really knows how to coach this Butler team. Anthony Grant is also another young stud. VCU looked unimpressive in November and they've made some big strides.

Sean Miller from Xavier rates high on my list as well. Two other guys in Ohio, both from the MAC, are Keith Dambrot from Akron and Jim Christian from Kent. Both get the most out of their kids, and play very good defense night after night. They can't get big school talent, but do a good job of getting kids with good character and that builds winning habits.

Lots of great young coaches out there.

Scott Drew and Mick Cronin are two doing great jobs right now at turning around programs that needed it badly.

Baylor is much improved and has to be considered ahead of where anyone thought they would be at this point after the situation down there Drew came into.


Cincy has gone from an easy win to a....we better come to play tonight type of team in a few months.
