Although I agree with you that his comment was ridiculous as I said on page one of this thread.
You turn around and make an equally ridiculous comment to him.

So wishing someone should be aborted is not as bad as saying they wish a kid got shot?

Help me here please.

The world would be a better place without someone in it that wishes that an innocent child was murdered. Thus if his parents would have aborted him the world would be a better place. I firmly stand behind my comment.

Guy asks for advice, I send him a long PM and even offer him a 400-page PDF on leadership. Didn't even get a response back.

You must have told him something he did not want to hear.
Thats the way he rolls.

The focus on guns being the problem is truly amazing, the "problem" is mental illness, combined with a societal loss of respect for neighbors.

A side note, went to the movies this weekend, saw 4 or 5 previews, each and everyone showed non stop gun play, mayhem, etc. Guys just blasting away with weapons as a way of solving their problems. The weapons are not the problem, society, the media, the education system, and a host of other factors are the issue. None of which is even being discussed post tragedy.

Agreed, our society treats violence and gun play differently than Europe. Simply limiting weapons here will not have the same effect as it does in Europe. Also, how are you going to stop the flow of weapons if they cannot put a dent into the flow of drugs into the U.S.? Banning or severely restricting guns will only put guns into the hands of cops or the bad guys.

What does it say about the U.S. when one of the highest grossing movies, The Hunger Games, plot is teenagers chosen to compete vs. each other in a battle to the death. How can a movie with that plot get a PG-13 rating? This in the same country where people go batshit crazy over Janet Jackson's nipple. $1000 says that if there had been tits in the Hunger Games it would have been rated R. How fucked up is that?

Just watched Cars 2 with my 4 year old Nephew because he loves Mater and Lightning Mcqueen. I was amazed how many scenes featured cars shooting at each other? In one scene a car is being tortured and another car says "kill him" and they blow him up. In several scenes cars have guns and are shooting at each other or blowing each other up. I may start to sound like an old geezer but how the fuck is this movie rated G?

Yeah but these movies are not being made in Europe or marketed like they are in the U.S. These movies are made and marketed for U.S. audiences and anything else they make is gravy. According to Box Ofice Mojo the Hunger Games made over 400 million in the U.S. and just 278 million for the rest of the entire world.

Yeah, but I also prefaced it by saying that the U.S. treats gun play and violence differently than Europe so the same gun laws that apply in Europe would not necessarily translate to the U.S. because of societal attitudes.

Also, European countries are usually bordered by other civilized countries and not by a lawless society with a 1000 mile porous border where they knock off police chiefs weekly. Restricting gun laws in the U.S. will only increase the power and control of the cartels. If the U.S. cannot make a dent in multi-ton drugs coming across the southern border how do you think they will stop moving weapons to the bad guys?

This is likely the action of a rich law firm in Connecticut trying to cash in and "selling" the parents on it. The survivors will get some kind of compensation from it, that is the way the system works. Ask the supposed "minorities", that have been using excuses like this for generations and have made a # of Jewish lawyers very wealthy.

Attorneys are 1 professions that needs severe regulation or just emilinated all together. I could give numerous examples but don't feel like it. One example would be someone gets a 2nd DUI.....He talks to 1 attorney and if he pays him 10K, then he will have 1 year probation and 10 half ass hours of community service. He says "I cant pay that" and said attorney says, "well for $500, I can get you 2 years work release to avoid prison".

It is a completely broken system. Some of these corporate attorneys bill the shit out of everything they can at outrageous rates.

This has been an issue for years. If trial lawyers did not have the Democratic party in their pocket with all the money they feed them then we might one day have Tort reform. Republicans are for Tort reform while the Dems are not. Do you remember that scumbag who cheated on his dying wife and almost became Vice President? He was nothing more than an ambulance chasing scumbag lawyer who was opposed to tort reform. You can thank the Democratic party for the continuation of these outlandish lawsuits. Yea the Dems are for the 'little guy' my ass.
