Square play(and I played it) is to grab the NYG now. Line should move. Giants should play an inspired game as a finale to Old Tom, Philly should be in total disarray.

Many times when a coach is fired the team wins the next game. The question is if interim HC Pat Shurmur will play the starters. Kelly was going all out to win game.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer

In my convo w Chip he said next stop he just wants to coach & insists he does NOT want to be the personnel guy too. This is significant

Yeah, but that's usually because the Interim guy is a well liked, inspirational guy who the players want to see get the job full time. Can't believe that would be the an option with Shurmur. This is a team that is gonna start from scratch. We'll see, like I said it's a very square play, and the added bonus is it's likely Tom's last game for NYG.

If I were USC, I would find a loophole in the contract or provide a nice buyout to Helton & back up the truck to get Chip. With the talent he could recruit there especially defensively, they are instant title contenders.

So the guy who never won in college couldn't win in the pros with the same players..

Overall i just feel like he was overmatched each week, especially this year.

i do think if you're the Titans you do need to make a run at him.. And I bet Miami (college) is wishing they waited on a HC.

I'm surprised only because they gave him "full control" (a stupid decision as he has no track record here) less than a year ago. I would think the ownership would give him more time to put his program into place.

But this isn't all on Chip. The owner should have never, ever given him control over the roster as is isn't as if he has a resume like Bill Parcells or anything. It was dumb and dumb decisions often metastasize problems as happened here.

Why in the hell would the Titans want him? He will trade the #1 overall pick for Hershal Walker and a bottle of orange juice.

He is going to make Mariotta into what? More of a runner? Geeze, what a disaster.

You know the big boosters in Texas are scrambling to find a way to fire Charlie Strong.

On the money side...

Kelly still had two years left on his 5-year, $32.5 million contract That means the Eagles still owed Kelly about $13.4 million at the time he was let go.

That stuff I think needs to go. Completely asinine. So he fails ( gets fired) yet the company owes him millions. If I have an IT job making 80K a year and get fired. What do I get? If I am lucky, unemployment which is about 1K a month yet he gets this money and will have a 6 figure job at minimum within 4 months. What a racket

He won 3 Pac 12 Championships...went to 4 BCS games in 4 years..What do you mean by not winning in college ?

First and utmost....CK is a clueless moron....a guy who doesn't watch NFL football....

Chip went 10-6 his first two years in the NFL...the guy can coach....it might have been a reach to let him be in charge of player personnel...I liked all his moves except letting Maclin go....

Chip is not responsible for dropped passes and fumbles....I would have given him one more year....and I agree with red EYE...hope he goes to Tenn...

Only place I could see hiring him is Tenn, strictly because of Marriotta. Surprised Philly didn't hold on to him and try to trade him there and get something.

What about the 49ers.

He will be coaching the Titans , Texas , or wait for 2017

I was pointing out (in my response/post) that greenbacks said "bet" that he'll be coaching in college this fall. I pointed out that there aren't any openings! Texas ain't firing Strong at this point. So unless he lands an NFL job for the 2016 season, he'll be out of coaching for a season/year. I agree, he'll be back in 2017....and I imagine it will be at a college (and Texas is a prime spot for him).
