you dont need to create a blank tab, once you start creating the pivot table it will do that for you. the range will be a drag of the top row of the data and goes all the way down to the end, but you can reduce it to 2700 as the year will prob be 2500 lines of data

heres the exact steps i just tried.
I have the al-nl tab opened on the sheet. I then hit the create pivot table, a box opened up that said select the table or range. so what i did was just highlight col a-b-c. I then choose new worksheet, where i wanted the pivot table to go to.
after that i hit the okay button and when i do that, a box pops up that says "data source reference is not valid.
This seems easier enough, but its just not happening.
