I was going to bet the over 9 in cubs game and then I happened to check on greek where you can bet each team's respective run production. So instead of betting over 9 at -125, I bet Hou over 4.5 @ +125 and cubs over 5 @ +125. I figure even of one team does not show up I will still come out a little bit ahead, but now the game total is effectively 10 with the hook.
Has anybody ever thought about breaking up your over bets like this to avoid getting screwed when one team does not show up? The price does not always work out in every game anyway but im interested in this. It is kind of like breaking up your under bet in hoops to 1/2 full game and 1/2 first half in case you get goosed on OT or whatever.
Anyway I'm interested what people think. It may be one of those things that looks smart but is really dumb. Books are good at putting those out there.
