This has been the strangest season. After watching them for most of the season it's hard to come to terms with the fact that they're in a virtual tie for the Wild Card. It's not just the big gap ... they've been humilated beyond anything I remember in modern Yankee history in numerous games ... the pitching has been inconsistant, yet here they are.

Would someone please start a thread regarding yankees being a lock at winning the pennant so they lose a game or two.

If only that were true. The only time anyone notices the so called jinx posts are when they backfire...For every so called jinx, there is a thread floating around that went down just as expected.

the best team money could buy now trails the bosox by 7.5 games and the runner up in the west will get the wildcard.

cant say how happy i am to see these overpaid old guys in pinstripes miss the post season for once.

get your golf clubs out torre. watch playoff highlights of your old team on sportscenter damon. count your money a-rod.

no soup for you!
Sorry BLUE, no soup for you and the sox after this sweep you just took. Maybe in Boston you might win one. :dancefool :howdy:

The big test for the Yankees will be how the 2 new starters do ! It was easy to see that the Yanks started their 3 best against Boston in Clemens, Wang and Pettitte.
Now they will need to get some quality starts from highly touted rookie Hughes and Ian Kennedy. Without some wins from these two newbies... The Yanks will be in big trouble. However I think that these two could easily win half their starts with the awesome offense behind them.

I fully believe Kennedy will get this one start, then Moose will jump back in the rotation. He needs a week to get his head straight for the playoff stretch.

I kinda believe Kennedy will get another start after pitching 7 innings and giving up just 1 earned run and picking up the win. However you may be right about Moose returning in a week but it just might be the highly regarded Phil Hughes who takes a seat in the Pen. He has been a disaster lately giving up a lot of home runs ! Yanks have 2 game lead in the WC race and I need to cover some bets as they are looking pretty good.
I have some nice $$ on the Indians at 28/1 and also to win over 82 1/2 games which seems like a lock at this point..... Did I just type the nasty word { LOCK } ? :money8: :toast: :dancefool

This is not the same team that was looking so pathetic before the AllStar break. This is a very healthy Yankee team right now and if they make the playoffs... they could and will give anyone problems. Not only are they the best offensive team in baseball but take a good look at their pitching staff. They now have Roger and they have added some very good young pitchers in Phil Hughes, Chamberlain, and now Ian Kennedy.

Please post Rogers stats, as well as Hughes and Kennedy.

ONCE AGAIN, WE HAVE TO HEAR THIS TOTAL BULLSHIT THAT "IF THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, THEY WILL GIVE TEAMS PROBLEMS"...........WTF TEAM WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THAT WON'T????

ANY TEAM IN THE "IF" MODE IS NOT A FAVORITE TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES...........NOW KERMIT, YOU AND OTHERS CUT THE BULLSHIT OUT WITH THIS CRAZY STATEMENT.

Fish ! Good to see you posting again but next time you post... Please try to make some valid points. First you post your ridiculous " Why no playoffs in NCAA football is great " thread .... talk about BS crazy statements !
As for your response to my post... If you had the Indians at 28/1... You wouldn't be a little worried about the Yanks ? I thought you were off the hard Booze ? Enjoy ......:toast:
