I guess we get to dictate what another soviegn nation is not to do. This whole "world cop" policy could eventually kill us all.

It doesn't sound like they have the technology to be a legitimate threat.

Between China & Japan, GW is going to demand that someone solves this problem, and quickly.

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing....

Agree TT Japan is the place where a miss guided missle could land and do some damage.

Who really cares what they test? Do we think we are the only country that can test missles and things of that nature? We didn't say much when Russia was at equal strength as us when they were testing missles. I say we keep our noses out of other people business and take care of our own. We could obliterate ANY country in the world with our missles, so what the f are we worried about?

You can't be serious. A retaliatory strike does NOT undo the damage that a missile can do to us. And the THREAT of a retaliatory strike only works against those that have something to lose. N. Korea is a country that, after being attacked with conventional weapons, may no longer have anything to lose.

EVERY COUNTRY should care about who has the capability to attack using nuclear weapons.

That explains why the United States is universally and unquestionably loved throughout the world.

I, like the red states, am thrilled that we've ignored William Hung Jong II to, instead, bankrupt our treasury searching for imaginary WMD in Iraq.

I think it's about time we went to see the Great and Powerful Wizzard.

From what they say it could reach the United states but us east coasters should not worry. Railbird could get it though

If NK were to send a nuclear (or nucular as GW says) missile to the continental US it would come from the north. Only the the northwest US would be in range for their farthest-traveling missiles.

To WHOM it may concern:

You can't insult the police, then bawl where they are when somebody beats you up: what kind of a person does that make you?

And........what, not guards or police are ever needed anywhere? Come on!!!

Being the dominant nation in a unipolar world is a double-edged serve when it comes to international relations. We caught hell for not helping the Jews in Europe until near the end of WWII (even though we knew about it in 1939), caught hell for not helping stop the Tutsi massacre in Rwanda, caught hell for allowing El Mozote, etc, etc. Then, we get bitched out for being in Vietnam, Iraq II, Nicaragua, etc, etc. It's crazy, people are whiny little bitches that don't know what they want.

Exactly!
There were actually riots here pre-WWII. Imagine that: deaths because of the possibility of us getting involved!

Hines, don't fool yourself into thinking that vietnam and iraq were for the good of the world. The thing that probally bothers the rest of the world is that america touts itself as the watchdog of the world yet only acts in its own interest. Anyone with half a brain isn't blaming the american people, just the typical selfish politicians and corporations in power.

Well of course, we overthrew Arbenz because the Dulles brothers were concerned about their interests in the United Fruit Company, among other causes for our interventions in Latin America. But let's be honest here, the US is in a no-win situation internationally as the world's hegemon. We get criticized for doing too little and too much on a constant basis.

Another oppressive regime obviously and openly trying to produce WMD and the means to deliver them, seems much more important than our Iraq debacle.

or does it?

Bush is an oil man, isn't he?

Of course.

Everyone has to remember that politicians and corportations run countries, not decent folk. The US is far from the only country that behaves in this fashion, just that they get the coverage.
