Bonus Whores/scammers hurting the industry and....

Rogue books are doing as much damage.

Nothing us honest folks can do. It is very hard to argue a congressional interference when they use scams and scammers for their opinions and reasons. In an ironic manner, some of the same people complaining about Govt intervention are apart of the cause/reason anyhow.

they don't, plain and simple. giving away more than 20% for reload, or an extended period of time hurts the books.

bonuses do not hurt sportsbooks. mismanagement, and poor line making skills hurt businesses, not a mere 10-20% sign up, with a couple reloads thrown in through out the year

Persons who collude to collect bonuses on multi accounts and then try to circumvent limits via wagering to collect bonus monies with little or no risk to them, but only to sieze the bonus and get out with that bonus profit having no concern for ever giving or showing any loyalty to the books inwhich they try and take advantage of.

I can see where a 20% re-load is okay IF the book is getting substancial action from that particular player , but we all know the OF's and SG's of the offshore world will circumvent the hell out of those 20% offerings...that's where the problem lies

i know there has been a lot of talk of more sharper action, but for the average square, they will never meet the roll over to cash the 20% bonus.

so, no, with a good buiness model, management, and a great linemen. they should easily be able to offer it a few times a year. you forget, most have casinos and poker rooms now also.

You cant make money doing it with the same book. The only way to make money with bonuses would be to use 2 seperate books and wait for scalps or near scalps and play the opposite sides.

For instance, if you got the WWTS 20% and the Olympic 10% and then just wait for scalps which will occur often on props. Or even wait for a +130 and -130 opposite sides. This can be found on any saturday afternoon on the college football props or Sunday on the NFL props or quarter lines.

These people who keep talking about a player opening up 20 accounts at the same book to get the 25% bonus 20 times are crazy. They want to paint bonus players in a light that would be clearly cheating ( opening up 25 accounts at 1 book) , instead of telling the truth and admitting that bonus players scalp out at different books, but would never open multiple accounts at the same book for the reason you mention as well as that fact that the book will know.

They have an agenda here as well and that agenda is to make bonus playing look like something that is crooked and outright cheating. If they admit the truth about how bonus hunters hunt bonuses, it would be obvious that there is nothing wrong with it.

I can't see ANY book giving away 20% a couple times a year as a rule of thumb...Its mathematically impossible, not to mention the scammers who could destroy that business plan...

Cris gives away loyalty points , I think thats a fair way of rewarding 'action'....even loyalty points can be manipulated but not as bad as an outright gift of 20% or more on your post-up....You do not see the large books offering these bonuses, and for good reason.

I would say that bonus whores are bad, but how many are out there? Dont you think that the squares that a 20% bonus brings in more than offset any bonus whores? I mean I know my view is very skewed, but it has been my experience that it is very rare for players to ever even request a payout. For the few that get lucky and win, they are never content and just keep betting away.

Whenever I get together with my buddies to watch a game we share our 2 for 1 pizza coupons. Sometimes we need 6 pizzas and have to send 3 people since its one per customer. We always go to the shop with the 2 for 1 coupon rather than shopping at the same place all the time.

Frankly I'm worried that the pizza joint will fold since they can't be making any money or that my phone number will be put on a black list and I will be banned from all the local pizza shops.

VO GROUP has had at least 10 different 20% promos within the last 2 months. Unless you count it all as the same promo since a new one starts as soon as the last one ends.


SEPT 28,29, 30 ONLY 20% BONUS

then

OCT 1,2,3,4 ONLY 20% BONUS

then

OCT 5,6,7,8 ONLY 20% BONUS

I am guessing this weekend will be

Loyalty bonuses are the way to go, but new books dont think they can survive doing this.

it seems 20% is the barely profit point. if you see 30% its a lose money situation unless the rollover is rediculously high

I believe its quiet inappropriate to place whores and scammers at same level. Scammers are scammers, period. Too many ways to scam a book that it would take hours to type in just a number of them.

Whores exist because weak books allow them to exist. Books constantly giving out 20%+ bonuses are the ones to blame. Exceptions apply to short term promotions ( WWTS style ).

Regardless, whores exist and prosper because operations that cannot otherwise compete because of their poor marketing or clone content ( still ) believe that huge bonuses compensate their lack of attractiveness.

Said books have not yet realized that whores are everything but loyal...they come in, get the best and rush out of the door with their bag full, further weaking an operation that has to lower itself to market "irresistable" bonuses as a sole tool of survival.

My two cents....
