Blues ML, and put very small moves on -1.5 and -2.5, this could be a 5-1, 5-2 win if The Blues get ahead and take apart Boston, to me it is more than possible. They continue to achieve their goals above and beyond the narrative, Berube is coaching them well, they have outplayed the Bruins, overall, their puck possession is dominant (61% going into last game), possess a superior D, display relentless forechecking that results in turnovers & scoring opportunities, Binnington is hot last two games in goal, and The Blues are far, far more physical than the Bruins.
Sure, anything can happen, hockey is about the most random of sports (that is why I never say BIG on bets), one goal wins that were not entirely indicative of a team that deserved to win (I have won and lost playoff games on defensive deflected goals, terrible refs calls like the SJ/LV 5 minute penalty, and, of course "hand pass"), and I fear after the overblown issue with the tripping non call on Bozak the refs will call everything tonight, instead of old time playoff hockey... this would favor Boston even if it is both ways, say 6 penalties on both teams, since Boston's strength is their power play and penalty killers. A good wager is "over" for Blues penalties if there is a line on that somewhere, (but I will not play that.)
Boston is a good club, and Rask has been phenomenal, but I honestly thing The Blues will wrap it up tonight.
GL!
Serbone,...u know me brotha and no disrespect meant by asking this question so dont take this out of context at all. BUT lol,......being from the midwest are u a blues fan? This bias a tad? I tailed u last game. This one a tough one for me. I do think Boston is done but not sure about tonight to be the night. Lots of pressure to win first cup on home ice. Plz dont take offense,...just a fair question.
Blues had a winning record at the time of this thread being started
Good luck Serbone. How can you say Stanley Cup experience is not a factor? I believe it’s a huge factor having players who have been through this experience? Who do you think will be more prepared with less nerves behind the pipes tonight? Binnington or Rask? I’m not saying Boston will definitely win, it should be a good game, but their playoff experience is definitely a big advantage in their favour.
It is a media myth, a narrative only, for the normie fans.
These are pros making millions.
There is no pressure related to the Stanley Cup that they haven't experienced thus far (and IMO that is insignificant), hell, they are playing hockey against a team they have played 6 times already.
Funniest was the media saying over and over and over that Chara playing (2 games ago when he was injured) would give Boston inspiration, an emotional lift! That is funny, what, were they going to loaf in the middle of the Stanley Cup Finals, but, now, with Chara, they would be pumped up? (and, they lost)
Binnington has been playing for his career since mid January, talk about pressure? He was still in the minors in December, on loan, and is 25 years old, finally got a chance. THAT is pressure.
since he started this thread the blues went on a 23-10-4 run to close out the season and have made a run to game 7 of the stanley cup finals (maybe win the whole thing). he started this thread and the ran off 9 straight wins immediately after. at the all star break they blues had 36 points and were 9 points out of a wild card spot in the playoffs and second to last in the western conference. give credit where it is due, this has been an amazing run for the blues and one of the more profitable threads on the Rx that i can remember.
